Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

He hasn’t got loads of clubs after him though, his mrs doesn’t want to go to Newcastle and he’d be second fiddle to Isak. It will be clubs like Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham etc
i wouldn't be surprised if West Ham come in for him. Apparently they're having PSR issues themselves and they won't be signing Ferguson for the money Brighton want.
The lure of London and a wage comparable to what he's been offered here will probably tempt him.

Biggest issue with DCL is his injury record. I do think he would do better under Moyes than Dyche. He is by far our best striker at the moment. He has everything you'd want from a number nine except the most important, goalscoring ability. I don't think he will ever be great at that but he's really good at link-up play, he can actually trap the ball and pass to a teammate. He's one of the best strikers in the league with his head. He's pretty smart, makes more correct choices than most strikers. He's relatively quick, not a speed merchant but can beat defenders with pace.

Unfortunately his finishing, especially in one-on-ones is rubbish. Not the first striker who is a decent finisher as long as he doesn't have to think about finishing. The more time he has to think what to do the more likely he'll make a mess out of it. And of course his fitness record is poor. I would imagine other clubs have been looking at that as well and interest has twindled.

His good spell under Ancelotti wasn't because he was suddenly all-around much better. He just finished his chances and he was fit. Part of the issue with his finishing could also be under Dyche that a striker in Dyche's team doesn't get many chances in a match so the pressure to score from one of them is high. Getting more chances could ease that. But I don't if anything can be done with his fitness record. He has had lots of hamstring issues and I have no idea if that can even be helped.
I'm not sure about this, is he any good or are his abilities a bit of a myth? He has had numerous chances under lots of managers and had half a good season. I think the longer he hasnt played for us the better he is getting...
I do not want to go back to the lump the ball to DCL days, its a big no thanks from me.

Anyone who actually watches him knows those abilities are not a myth. Even when half-fit he wins a ridiculous amount of headers and he can hold and distribute the ball - provided there is someone to give it to. Which didn't happen too often under Dyche.

Under Ancelotti team did not lump the ball up to DCL. It's up to the manager. We haven't done it a whole lot under Moyes now.

But of course I don't mean keep him at any cost. For a reasonable wage, yes. Something that takes into account his injury record. If some other club offers silly money, off you go.

I just read on Everton Now that DM wants Harrison for 15 million; now DCL is back in the mix and let's throw in Soucek.

Could it happen?
If this happens then there is no 'new' Everton its the same old crap.

None of the loan signings should even be considered for another loan never mind paying money for them.

DCL is back in the mix because he wont get a bigger club or contract than what he is on here at Everton.

Also can we stop shopping in the PL league, the experience counts for nothing and the wages and prices are at a premium, it should be the last place we are looking for players.

It like when some say “keep them on as squad players on reduced wages’ the problem is the combined wages of Harrison, Doucoure and Keane would still be a fair whack of cash, wages that could be spent on better players.

Absolutely 💯 agree.

Stink,s of jobs for the boys.

The club are changing everything top down that should also apply to the squad.

You dont progress holding onto yesterday's promises.

Exactly, these players will be on more than many many very good players in say the French league or South America, you are probably talking close to 250k pw for them 3, they offer nothing.

Do some proper scouting and take a chance on a French or German kid who will cost you 20% of that and has a massive ceiling for improvement both on the pitch and in re-sale value.

These Ritchie rumours, Soucek, Harrison, DCL new contract, everyone of these will be 30 or 30 plus by the time their new Everton contract expires.

Have we not learnt anything from the past.

Leon Bailey likely available from Villa. Would be a hell of an upgrade on the wing for us. 27 though, so no resale value and would need to hit the ground running. They paid 30m four years ago.
