Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

James was not good so guess you don't want anyone like him.

Other players I wouldn't call explosively fast so guess you wouldn't take someone like them (age withstanding): Christian Eriksen, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes. 25-year old Kevin de Bruyne? Nah, too slow, wouldn't improve us.
Yeah if we are going for world class playmakers costing upwards of 50m. If these is no mobility around them they are a wasted asset.

But I thought we were talking about players we need. And specifically talk about the championship.

That stefan boring the psr guru 🤣🤣 on talkSPORT saying spurs may need to sell, due to cash flow if their owners dont put money in, because they have lost a lot of money this season due to league position and no Europe next year, obviously that could change winning the europa league, but if they don’t then looking at richarlison going to Saudi for 20mil. So I doubt they loan him to anyone

What happened with the Spurs owner and that allegation of insider trading the SEC made against him?

God knows, he obviously didn’t mention that, like he tried to bat off what Chelsea had done and it will be hard to prove, even though uefa have already fined them
One rule for the so called big 6

I think it's painfully obvious that goal scoring is our greatest weakness right now. None of the forwards we currently have are good enough. If we have money to spend, it needs to be spent on the forward line.

As much as I love Richy, I don't think he is the solution to this problem. Just like DCL, he is injured far too frequently and can't be relied upon to deliver what we need.

We need a striker who is going to consistently deliver double figures, and wingers who are going to chip in with 6 to 8 goals a season as well.

Considering those are the most expensive players in football it will likely take a couple of windows to get there, but that is what we should be prioritizing.

Am I the only one who doesn't really rate Delap all that much?

The team he's responsible for scoring the goals for are going down, miles behind the rest in 18th...
I think he is a good player but there certainly is a lot of extra hype as he is English.
Only 1 good season all be it in a poor team, but he is the star man so they play to his attributes.
But £30m isn't big money for a striker and even if it didn't work out we could get most of it back through loan fees and a sale.
He has only got 12 goals and there are numerous players from relegated teams scoring double figures that didn't go on to bigger and better things.
Morris with Luton, Pukki with Norwich and Dennis with Watford to name a few in recent years.
He does have youth on his side and I think his style would suit our fanbase but I wouldn't be too disappointed if we don't get him.
