Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Plenty of players have moved up from Championship and are fine. Eze, Bowen to name two.
talking about pace mate. Both of them are pacey

Not arguing that of course some people step up. some do, most don’t.
Look at maupay, Che Adam’s, tear it up at the level struggle in the premier league.

Take a look at the championship leading scorers and none of them have been successful in the premier league.

No, you said effectively that Championship players are slow.

You seem to miss the point about Championship scorers: if they are really good, they are snapped up by Premier League clubs before they end up in top goalscorers lists. Journeyman strikers like Sharp are not good enough for PL but play hundreds of matches in lower divisions so of course they score more than someone who is bought to PL at 22.

Quick point on Richarlison
He hasn’t been first choice at spurs and everybody seems to think he’s been permanently injured but he actually played 35, 31 and 18 times for spurs so given he wasn’t always picked he hasn’t actually been injured that much.
He had a really bad debut season after being burned out from playing nonstop for two years (Copa/WC/olympics/everton) but this season and last season went back to scoring one in three, mostly in the premier league (not racking up goals against no marks in Europe)

Most important points about Richy:
He’s a blue, he gives everything, he’s a far far better player than what we have and might not demand mega wages because of the first point made.

I’d love a one in three striker who is a blue to come back on a sensible deal.

He didn’t. He was making the point that someone looking ok in the Championship can look very slow in the Prem. Fellows would be like that, just like Clarke was at Ipswich this year.

Pace is paramount for us this summer.

I'd take him back purely because he hates the RS with a passion! 😆

It would have to be a loan with an option to buy if we are really interested in Richarlison, otherwise he can remain Spurs’ problem. We’d be mad to agree to buying him outright with his injury record.

Spurs aren’t in a strong position with Richarlison. Saudi may want him but he doesn’t want Saudi, and the only other club that has some kind of interest AND the ability to meet wage demands and possibly pay a decent transfer fee is Everton. Nobody else is in the conversation, and we don’t NEED him.

What are you arguing about? I never said anything of the sort. Of course players step up to premier league. But I am saying pace is the thing the player needs.
You can have a good career in the championship, look standout but with out pace you struggle to make the grade a league higher. Good players but missing the final ingredient.
Off the top of my head players that have stepped up in recent years:
Eze, Bowen, mings, Watkins, Rogers.
Bellingham also. All bought from the championship and now internationals
All have pace and athleticism. As well as ability.
I actually think we should be focusing on players from the championship as they have something to prove. But they have to have to tools to cope at the higher level
