Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this fine day +21°expected this week and no frosts .I hope all had a good night and have a fantastic day . I feel I must just clear this Moyesphobia ,it is all down to the way he behaved before he left us ,I concede the opportunity was too good to miss but it was the lies before he left ,so I don't like him .
I am chuffed with the results he has achieved so far but believe lots of coaches would have shown some at least of that improvement ,I get that he gets Everton and that along with his undoubted experience has garnered some extra points ( see what I did there ?) but there remains his attitude to "big " games and him having favourites -let me distinguish between favourites and shoe -ins . Lots of the side perform well enough to be almost automatic choices but some and this happened last time he was here ,are not doing enough but still get picked .I will not fall for they are coming back from injury line as then they should not be in the squad while there are young players who might just be another Joe Royle or Rooney .
Have a great day all COYB

I guess no manager will be perfect, even the ones who manage the more successful teams mess up at times. And I think that it’s where we are at the moment - I find myself saying he would be a brilliant player if only he timed his passes a bit better/could find the net/was a bit faster etc etc - because if they did all that they would be at the Citys and RS and teams like that. It’s the same with Moyes - he has his faults but we are where we are. What I see so far is that he has been able to give us a platform to maybe attract better players in future because we’re not in a relegation scrap, we’ve got the new ground, new owners and definitely a sense of optimism. I even think the press are warming to us which scares me.
So no I don’t forgive him for what he did when he left, I think he’s a stubborn old so and so, but I don’t have to love him for him to manage our team. But I am very grateful that I am now looking forward to Saturday with a bit of optimism rather than hoping it’s not going to be a complete wash out ( holds breath in case it is 😂).
Anyway a nice day for me I’m off for coffee with ex colleagues at a garden centre which has a lovely shop so a bit of a mooch afterwards as well as a look at the plants. @jazzy have a brilliant time at GP and hope you can get close enough to have a proper look at the new ground.
Have a great day everyone 💙

Morning everyone,

Great day yesterday. A lovely morning in the sun doing gardening. Then a listen to Davy Moyes' mighty blues getting back to where we belong followed by a visit from the SiL who loves red wine and Steely Dan ( played loud) and finished with a couple of hours watching the Masters.

Looks like the lovely spell of weather is over for now with 10 days of on and off rain - which is great for the garden.

Something very special lined up for tomorrow. I've accepted that it's highly unlikely that I will get a ticket to any of our final games at Goodison so me and 2 mates are doing the Goodison tour and then a visit to BMD before we have a pint or two to say ta ra to the Old Lady.

Have a lovely day everyone.
Have a brilliant time at Goodison- sure you will. Would love to have done the tour but wasn’t possible. I’m not sure they have been able to cope with an over- excited granny anyway so probably for the best.

Hey I'm not a great lover of Davey boy either Blue, but even I can recognise that Harrison had a decent game yesterday by all accounts, and Doucs very cool finish won the game for us. I was against him coming back at the outset, but he's proved me wrong and I think he's fully earned the right to take us into the new stadium, and then some. Longer term I would like us to employ somebody a bit more modern/experimental. The closest we got to that was Silva and I honestly think we didn't give that enough time. Anyway, 1 loss in 11 (a 1-0 away defeat to the champions elect) was not on the dinner menu back in January.
You have summed up my position perfectly re Moyes. He has earned the chance to lead the team into the new stadium and continue the rebuilding process.

Thank you Gladys, Val and Ange for by your support 💙. Well I finished my marathon in 4 hrs 7 mins , probably the hardest I’ve done as I started puking up the gel I’d taken at 6 miles and had a lot of retching afterwards but I finished 8 mins faster than last year and first M70. My family were at the finish and Eilidh my granddaughter ran the last 50 yards with me so it was a lovely family occasion 🙂. Knackered now 😂

You see this is where I have to back down as I get just videos and you pay good money and had to sit through the worst of times ,so I once again doff my cap at you and all the "real " fans who brave the times and the weather .

You’re very welcome- it’s such a wonderful cause and you’ve done brilliantly. It sounds like a lovely occasion for your family - I bet they’re so proud of you.💙

Please don’t back down, we’re all entitled to our own opinions and this is a great safe place to share them and I love that we all see things a little differently sometimes. I’m no more or no less of a real fan than anyone else. We’re all just blues aren’t we.
On another note a car just passed me on the M62 and the reg was COY 8S which I assumed was COYBS. It quite impressed me tbh, although I know not everyone likes private regs.

I meant I have to stop voicing my opinion so much not that I have changed my thoughts on Moyes but that I have realised that those attending the match may see it in a different light to me . It must be such a relief at the moment for those paying good money .

Ok we had a fab day out ....
