If he WAS ok defensively you’d maybe tolerate it but he should have cost us the game against City (not just giving away the pen, he should’ve received a second yellow for the challenge), and he cost us any chance yesterday. Can’t have a player who is crap in both phases.

Its the most important position to fill for me.

Young can fill in there to an average level but he is normally filling in other areas.

For all the stick Young gets at least he is generally always available.

Yeah based on the current squad I’d have Young LB and Patterson RB but we HAVE to improve on that.

I did preface this with "generally".

In actual fact , whilst you've picked 2 instances in the last 2 games imo he's been less of a defensive liability this season than Tarkowski who again was very lucky not to get sent off yesterday.
