At HT on 19 May 2022 I'd have took turgid football getting us to the new ground with little to no drama. That's the only point I can think of where I thought 100% that's it we're down.

The points deduction made it a bit spicy last season and this season hasn't been much but it still feels like it'll be a fairly steady journey to BMD. I'd have took it then so I'm not gonna wet the bed over it now. Just so long as the ownership gets resolved and whoever is in charge gets a crack at managing a stable club that can compete financially with even the mid-table sides.
BAH humbug!

Bugger off with your sound logic and reasoning, mate...
It has no place here! 😜

What?

What I said. For all the wailing and gnashing of teeth I've personally never thought we've looked doomed to go down based on performances over the last couple of seasons. I've always thought there were sides in worse shape than us in terms of staying up.

The most drama was the points deduction making it look dicey but it was took care of. As poor as we've been this season I still think we stay up with little to no real danger over the course of a full season.

I’d say staying up on the final day of the season was definitely drama like

By last couple I meant this season and last season. Poorly worded on my behalf.

Last year I personally thought we looked fairly better equipped to stay up in comparison to the teams who went down. Of course you may disagree but for last season at least we can point to who was factually correct at the end of it. There was some real hysteria and screams of doom which by and large I personally didn't subscribe to. I'm wide open to a vaulting if things get worse this season.

Last season wasn't a final day was it? Again, apologies if I wasn't clear when I meant this year and last year as my 'last couple' of seasons. Lampard's game against Palace was the one where I thought 'that's it'. I personally haven't felt that under Dyche. Regardless of the quality of play I don't get that same death spiral feel that has come under Koeman, Lampard, Benitez and others.

We are currently 3 points clear of relegation as we approach the halfway point.
That ranks as a poor performance from manager and players alike.
There is nothing to suggest a recovery is imminent.
Any manager of any club in this position would be under threat of dismissal.

But also when you throw in Southampton it just highlights poor even more.
Imagine this fella being sacked today as he beat nobody this season.
Oh sorry. He beat our manager. Not once. But twice. Lol

Mate it was me. But I didn’t edit…

Just copied the link and it’s how it formatted automatically…

You are giving me far to much credit… just tried it again and it only posted the link.

Was just saying i agreed that Dyche has been operating on a “hiding to nothing” in your words

You did edit it. You have deleted the last part of the second paragraph which talked about the championship and you added the word Lob at the end of it which was never even written in the post. That is the very definition of editing it. Here is the unedited original - https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/sean-dyche.116929/page-753#post-10468201

Wasn't this past summer under austerity moshiri style? Lost Onana, balanced the books with a few squad peripheral sales and swaps then filled the squad at the edges with loans. It's not totally his side is it?

Were we on the right line early doors with Moyes to maintain league status at the cost of entertainment to slowly make steady quality increases until we could actually mix it for a season near the top?

Sometimes the cycle takes to long, but is there anything better available now?
He’s spent 100mil and brought in 14 players, so pretty much his squad he didn’t want Onana and didn’t pick him towards the end of the season. I also think Onana did t want to play for someone who wanted him to just run and tackle the opposition and watch the ball fly of his head every time we’d got it.

How do sales look like vs spent please?
