I’m not totally sure on the amortisation but someone who seemed to know what they were talking about explained it to me that because the cost of the acquisition is spread evenly over the duration of the contract if you sign someone with days left in the FY the cost for that year is just for those days ie virtually nothing.
Not an accountant so wouldn’t swear to that but it’s logical enough. And explains why teams who need to sell for PSR can still buy: the sale is the important factor but buying has little impact.
