Perhaps we’re spending money that we have coming in from player sales which hasn’t been announced yet - which if true would be the smart way to do things.
We need to sell but that doesn't mean we can't buy. Small fraction of any fee paid will go on the books for this year. May even be a little bit of mutual back scratching if Villa are serious about Onana.
At 10m it adds about 3m to our PSR. Not really a factor.
If your gonna breach, 3m don't matter.
The transfer window opened last Friday.
Garner v2. Happy with this kind of business. Young players who aren’t quite good enough for Champions League clubs is exactly the market we should be looking in, especially in England.
Pointless to try to buy lads approaching their last big contracts, no value in them. Reality is every player we look at should come with the expectation of developing them for at least £10m profit or else a player who’s older but will win points on his own. It’s what the club needs.

It wouldn’t look very good if you were already facing a breach and you decided to add an additional 3 million to the breach to sign a new player. It would no doubt be considered an aggravating factor.
This is another thing that makes me think we aren’t going to be in breach this time.
