Well when you put the proviso in about "without winning a trophy" that narrows it down a little bit doesn't it mate! I mean, how many periods have we been the best part of a couple of decades without winning a trophy?! No mate, you have to compare like with like. Just focus on comparing the Kenwright era with what's gone before.

Here's just a little example: Under the Kenwright regime (12 full seasons) we've had an average 10th place finish. Before he took over and back to the last time we won the title (ie - the previous 12 seasons) and a period considered to be one of massive decline, we averaged 11th. You cant argue with that level of achievement I suppose. One whole league place jumped. Well in Bill.

Just because these people keep telling us how successful they've been at turning things around doesn't make it fact mate.

As for the lies the BU made: as said yesterday, you really have to sort out the wheat from the chaff here: who exactly is making these claims that turn out to be lies? The officers of the BU like Dave or Colin? Someone online who supports the BU and who claims imminent and nailed on administration doesn't really count. I think all the BU have done in that respect is to let Bill do the talking about how financially incontinent the club is and then poured over the club accounts and other documentation to point out how Bill is probably spot on about our parlous state.

The point I was making was the incremental progress . It COULD be better . Certainly , but the scenario they have consistently painted is just plain inaccurate .

In principle , I applaud the Ethos . In practice , its been Toe-Curling . Least it has for me . Eg , had a Youngun abusing me on Twitter . Laughed at me when I noted the stat you quoted earlier . I told him to go check his History . He never came back on it . Mind you , I blocked him later that say , in fairness . HOWEVER , BEFORE he went , he said ; A ; Its worse than it was under Johnson . It isnt . Though , when I pulled him , it turned out , he never actually WENT under Johnson .. Moreover , this Bell was ADAMANT hed take Craig Whyte - Yes that , about to be Criminally Indicted , Craig Whyte over BK TODAY , as Everton Chairman ...

It was at that point I stopped listening , Lid .

I REITERATE - for the wider audience ; I DO NOT SUPPORT KENWRIGHT . I also have nothing against BU in principle . What I DO take exception to is the manner in which hey claim to speak for me , or the family of mine whom have invested 5 generations and counting into actively following Eveton FC . Most of us , Home & Away .Moreover , if you so much as question it , torrents of abuse rain down , the Kopite thing , case in point .

The Billy Liar thing - when THEY , THEMSELVES were consistently fibbing , was just my personal Tipping Point .

had me in bulk today, someone in his street has a flag up ,dosnt go the game , he is only up first thing , with the lion of bootle(his dog) and when it does its poo, he picks it up in a bag and wipes it all over the front door and step of the reds house, not nice but i coulnt help laughing, hes fuken nuts, sound as anything outside away from the footy.cracker fella.

Fair enough LCAB. People out-blueing each other and calling someone a Kopite because they take another viewpoint is not on, clearly it's not.

It sounds to me though that you've been listening to the troll chatter online and a few OTT but well-meaning lads in person who are taking a bit of info and running too far with it. The people running the BU dont come across that way. They're more circumspect than to put forward outrageous doom-laden claims about imminent decline. It would serve no purpose for them to do so, because they know full well we'll have enough to get by and continue trading for a few years yet. We may not be run into the floor just yet but we're in a terrible financial position vis-a-vis where we are and the wherewithall we have to have in place to go where we want to go; and the killer is that there is no plan WHATSOEVER from this crew who control Everton about how we get out of this drift down the pecking order.

You know how they say stats can prove anything - well the average improvement of 1 place is just that. At no pt in the last ten years have we gone into last day needing a win to stay up and weve qualified for europe on a regular basis for consecutive seasons. Looks like significant improvement to me!

By the same token, ignoring the stat that we actually won a trophy in the previous 12 seasons evens that statistical anomoly out. Swings and roundabouts. If your point is we've had a more even paced ride in the last 12 seasons then yes, that's right.
