Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

My go-to Christmas songs are 'Fairytale of New York', Greg Lake's 'I Believe in Father Christmas' and 'A Spaceman Came Travelling'.

Although, I'm actually partial to a good ol' Christmas carol too from my chorister days, and how I love going to carol concerts and midnight mass.

We Three Kings, The First Noel and O' Come All Ye Faithful are my favourites in that respect. I'm onto my Christmas breakfast and my first beer of the day.
In the bleak midwinter for me.

Always port for me on Xmas morning. But I'll wait until I start prepping dinner about noon.

before that a bit of last minute hoovering for which I need to change the bag on my hetty hoover. I think a YouTube video may be needed

Another great one - we sang it last night at mass. My wife has poured a champagne for her and the girls, but I'm sticking to my lovely amber session ale.

I'll start on the rest of the cooking in about half an hour after I've sat and played some games with the youngest.

Yeah, I'll be having bubbly pre dinner (not Champagne sadly) with Sam, the neighbour's daughter. Peter is a strictly lager out of the bottle lad. Doesn't touch anything else.

Had midnight service on the TV last night and carols from Christ college this morning. Wouldn't be Christmas without them. Will also put a carols CD on whilst prepping lunch.

You do realise Phil that pics of your dinner prepping is now an obligatory requirement in here. ;)

Merry Christmas friends.

Jazzy's post had me thinking. What's everyone's top 3 Christmas songs. Mine are I believe in Father Christmas, Fairytale of New York and, don't laugh, Last Christmas.

I realised whilst cooking tea last night that this is probably the first time in years that I've had the UK no 1 on my Ipod😀
1. White Christmas - Bing
2. Step into Christmas - Elton
3. Merry Christmas - Slade

Ok before I get too blitzed ( 3 prosecco so far ) I'd like to raise a glass to some of our friends that we've missed recently , Sassy , Methuselan and Terrarian , and I hope I haven't missed anyone. ( Chums ilke Larbert Toffee are still posting on the main page ).

But most of all our continued inspiration Messy who I'm sure is watching down on us and I hope and trust we are doing him proud.

Have a wonderful day everyone. Much love

….when you’re old it really doesn’t matter admitting to liking East 17s ‘Stay Another Day’.

Daughter has moved into a big new house close to ours so we’re up there this afternoon. Mrs Eggs doesn’t have to produce her famous roasties this year. Line up is Daughter (heavily pregnant and due in 3 weeks), my Welsh Son-in-Law (the cook), 2 year old grandson; My son, his wife and my 2 granddaughters. Topping it off is my 94 year old MiL and Eddie, the French bulldog. I’ll stagger home later.

Happy Christmas, have a great day everybody xx
