Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello everybody. It's taken me ages to catch up on the fence panels, Christmas cooking, falling off ladders, music and tonight's tipples. I have never stopped today. Seriously. I logged on this morning to a ton of work. Soemtimes we have to go out for additional information from social services or the police. They must have all been clearing their desks before Christmas and all the requests I had made over the last three weeks had come back. I decided I was going to clear my desk too so, after a 10 hour day I have nothing outstanding! The bonus is that my day off on Thursday can be a flexi day instead of holiday. I'm in credit -therefore I can have a day off. I don;t like being in credit on my time unless I have a specific objective in mind.. I would hate to die unexpectedly and be in credit on my flexi 🤣 . My preferred time zone is between 3 and 5 hours in debit.

I haven't even had a drink yet - is it too late to start now?
No

Start now Anj, you have deserved that drink.

A 10 hour shift is good going.

Never too late. It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere, Anj!

Never got into him. Having said that he's a great songwriter and I love other people singing his songs. Bruce does a brilliant version of Chimes of Freedom.
I love Bruce singing Chimes , two of my all time favourites combining. But I also love the way Bob and his music just pops up unexpectedly. I was watching a clip of the 1963 March on Washington , known for Martin Luther Kings famous “ I have a dream “ speech . They introduced a very young Bob to sing “ The hour that the Ship comes in” 60 years ago! , incredible . And I’ve been rewatching the tv series Billions and two of his songs have been played at the end recently “ Gotta serve somebody “ and the supremely wonderful “ Visions of Johanna” .

I’m shattered. Grandkids 3 & 4 have just gone home. Grandad thought it might be a good idea to take them to town for the day, he’s full of bright ideas! They do love a ride on the top deck of a bus, something mundane in my childhood is a rare treat for them. We couldn’t visit Father Christmas in the shopping centre as this had to be booked in advance and was full for today. I was somewhat relieved as it was £7.50 per child plus a choice of package of photos and souvenirs priced up to £20. We went to their favourite pizza restaurant as a consolation followed by a ride on the Dobby horses. They asked to visit the cathedral to see the crib, there we had a further treat as the choir were practising. Their faces as they sat watching were a joy to behold, it was the first time they had experienced carols sung in a church, another of my childhood experiences that is foreign to them. Then home where they helped themselves to chocolates and candy canes from the tree. Their Mum was horrified “We were never allowed to to touch those until Christmas!” lol
Sounds like a lovely day
