Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Replace the Guinness (Our black lab was called that) with a glass of red, and thats me in an hour or so.

Oh, for the 70's rock fans in here, Sky Arts is a treat tonight.

6.00 pm. 2 hour doc thing on Genesis

8.00 till 10.30 pm. Doc about how Queen became, well, Queen.

Probably both repeats, but a reason to slump in front of the fire anyrate.

Like some have said, I too get Nikki moments, most days. But they are fleeting, but always end up smiling at the memories (broke the mould with her), and if I end up having what I call a "sad day", I just tell myself that I am sad cos I loved her so much. Works for me.

Definitely just been inspired to root out an old live (Gabriel) version of Suppers Ready on YouTube later. ;)

Nice one Fred, my mate got to a fairly high level in HMRC and he had to sack some bloke one day basically because he was bad at his job etc. but he maintains it gave him more pleasure to sack him because he was chairman of the Genesis fan club.

Haha. They've just been talking about that. How admitting you were a Genesis fan was like "coming out". 😀

I don't really recall it like that tbh. I was a huge fan of their early stuff but by the time they had become commercially successful my musical tastes had moved on.

I’ve still got my original vinyl versions of Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Live, Selling England,Lamb, Trick of the Trail, Wind and Wuthering , And then there were three. They were the only band of that “genre” I liked growing up. Couldn’t be doing with Zeppelin, Floyd , Yes , Heep etc. Selling England will always have a place in my top 20 with Bruce , The Jam . Elvis Costello and all.
