Came off the bench 9 times for Dyche. We only ever seemed to lose 1 first choice midfielder at a time so never needed to start him.
rather we go for a younger hungrier player that has a lot to prove. Davies got the golden spoon treatment enough is enough. He’s below epl standards. If you can name one team in the epl that would take him then maybe he would have a chance. Send him to Greece with Mirallas

Did he even get a game under Dyche? If not, that's a head scratcher.
Exactly. How many times did our 5th choice midfielder play this season?

Can warrington, with better technical ability, play a role as 5th choice?

Can we reduce further wages by not keeping an extremely limited players and develop someone with better all round abilities?

Davies makes no sense in our current setup, I don’t think he makes much sense in any premier league setup.

Seems pretty obvious to me why we'd retain Davies instead of buying in a new CM given our limited budget.

You're spot on. There are 2 realities here.

1. Tom Davies plays a part this coming season - awful decision because he's an awful player
2. Tom Davies barely features and is just there to pad the squad - awful decision as you've a player sat there earning 10 times that of an academy player, offering absolutely nothing.

I genuinely don't get how this can somehow be seen as sensible. If this same discussion was going on about Andre Gomes there'd be absolutely no one saying we should keep him, despite Gomes being 10x the player Davies is.
