2022/23 Tom Davies

Joke of a decision that has legitimately ruined the window for us in my view. Tom Davies is a dreadful player who'd be lucky to land in a Championship squad but it's about what it signifies.

We are absolutely skint and need any bodies to fill the squad, not just that but the club have clearly not learned and don't care, they think the "cheap" option is keeping Davies, who's probably on £50k a week, despite the fact that there's young lads on 1/10 of that who'll have the same impact or better on the squad, it's no wonder why talented young players like Price chose to leave when they see this going on.

FFS throw Warrington into Davies' position and move on from him, again he's dreadful. Literally any amount of money we throw at him will be a waste that we'll regret. The management of this club is truly the worst in the world, no doubt and this decision shows it in a microcosm.
Depending on the source, he’s on about £40k per week.

He’s not worth anywhere near that to us. Half it and maybe I’d keep him around as a backup. Maybe.

lol lol lol lol

Most OTT post of the week goes to you.
I disagree. Literally this week we were on about where we could spend money and improve. Us trying desperately to keep hold of Davies shows the pond we're actually fishing in. It has ruined the window before it's started because we know we have absolutely nothing to spend.

Again, it's dreadful decision by itself but it's also a decision that shows the club's plan for the summer, which is bodies for the squad instead of quality for the squad.

1. He's been offered a new deal, maybe wait to see if he accepts in the next 3 weeks.
2. You don't know what wage or contract length he's even been offered.
3. We play 3 midfielders and currently have 5 (Onana, Gana, Garner, Doucoure, Davies) you say "just use Warrington" but the highest level he's played is League 1.
4. You're still being ridiculously OTT saying it's ruined the window. How about the deal we offered Coleman who's on higher wages than Davies and might come back from this injury a lame donkey.

Again I just don't see how someone like Warrington isn't considered for literally 1/10th of the wages or anyone else for that matter. If the academy for this club doesn't have a single central midfielder in the under 18s or 21s that can replicate Tom Davies' impact on this squad then we should legitimately consider closing it as it's clearly a waste of time.

Would literally rather give Warrington or any other youth midfielder we have any minutes that Pony Hawk is going to waddle around for under hitting passes and missing sitters
we all say it every end of season now is the time to get rid of all the deadwood and the ones tht contracts are finishing and we always end up keeping most of them we must have the only revolving door that only goes in never out

1. Offering it says it all. Imagine if we went out and offered Ross Barkley £100k and he rejected it, it's the fact that we're doing it at all is the problem, not if he accepts or not.
2. He's hardly gonna be taking a paycut and it's most likely not gonna be under 3 years as it would make no sense for him, unless he's content with never playing any meaningful amount of football again.
3. Warrington has played only as high as League One, that's correct. Tom Davies' performances are that of a level of a League One player. I'd rather attempt to try to develop someone like Warrington and make him better rather than commit to a player we all know is terrible and won't improve in Davies.
4. Coleman is far more useful to this squad on one leg than Davies is fully fit. I'm not even joking.

So you're fuming over complete speculation then?

Again, maybe grab a beer, you're going so OTT it's just funny now.
