Our immediate future

My biggest worry this season is the way we play. We have no idea going forward, our only tactic is to hoof the ball from back to front. no quick passsing, no movement and when we do break from the back the majority of the team are jogging. i don't think we will go down but i also don't think we have anything to look forward to. i don't know what else to say, i have never felt so disenchanted.

I try not to worry.

BUT

We havnt bought a player of note in beards. Our left back is our top scorer. And we play the worst brand of football ever seen in the Prem.

We will get what we deserve unless we are saved by a sugar daddy.

Spot on mate. We play some awful football. Hard to take with it being just two years after we were playing some really good stuff and making progress.

The club is stale and stagnant. But what can be done? We're going through devolution at the moment. Is revolution the right answer in kick starting us again?

we need to try and get to 40 points , when does anyone think this is going to happen, I`m not sure it will of by the 13th May ! our performances for most of the season have been shocking, how we won at West Brom I don`t know, Long and Odemwingie should of had us 2 nil down after 50 minutes, we had a lucky penalty at Sunderland. The game against Blackburn in a fortnight is a 6 pointer for me. Those who think we will finish in mid table are optimistic at worst. After Blackburn our home games are Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal ! Cahill, Saha and Neville look finished at this level. Seriously its looking worring for me. Whats worse is I`m going to both Spurs and Villa this week.:(

We're searching for some form.

We need to replace the players we lost - which is up to the board to sort out.

Otherwise our immediate future is anywhere between 10th to 6th.

Uncertainty is all due to this board.

Yes. Immediately I'm worried about existing injuries, and more injuries to players who are forced to play more games than they can.

Beyond that, the lack of money situation is rearing it's ugly head this year.

We need to come up with a new strategy. Not loan and hope.

I think we'll somehow fumble our way through it. There are major issues that need to be addressed though. By hook or by crook we need to find a way to score. Stoke's long throw routine was very difficult to stop and Arsenal of old scored a large proportion of their goals from set pieces. Was it Joe Royle who latched on to using Andy Hinchcliffe to feed Dunc? We've got enough big players (Fellaini, Straq, Vellios, Rodwell, Distin etc). We should be profitting from Baines' deliveries with much greater regularity.

Unless, by some miracle, funds become available, we've got one loan signing left to patch the squad up. Jags is only out for 6 weeks and I think we can cover that with a combination of Hibbert and Duffy if necessary. I'd probably look for a goal poacher. I'm not sure what his fitness is like, but it's hard to imagine that Robbie Keane could fail to find the net with Donovan and Drenthe flanking him. We could have a solid midfield three behind them including any combination of Fellaini, Rodwell, Osman, Cahill and Neville.

More longer term we need to strip away dead wood and bring more players into the squad. Why do we need Hahnneman? Neville seems to be clinging on? Bily seems to have already moved in his mind. And Saha seems like he just doesn't have it in him any more. That should free up wages. I'd drop Cahill into a deeper and less regular role too, like Ferguson did with Scholes. Can we sign Drenthe on a free? What about players like Kalou and Gordon? Who else is available? We need to establish Duffy, Barkley, Gueye, McAleney and Vellios in the squad as a minimum and get them playing regularly.

If Moyes walked into the job now I'm sure he'd relish that sort of challenge. I think it's worn him down though and he's having trouble getting out of a rut. We need decisive action at this time and this sort of decisions he's made this season, such as Ba and Yakubu make me think he's losing his edge.

things will get really dull and scrappy with a drip drip effect until a. a regime change or b. a big money player sale.
forget competing with the top half teams ,the likes of wolves bolton and wigan are the teams we are going to be up against.
we need more game winners and leaders on the pitch , currently we have 3 it seems ..osman baines and jags (injured) the rest have gone into there shells or been too average too often.

oh what i wouldnt give to have a young alan ball and big dunc in the team :( will we ever see that kind of passion and desire throughout the team ever again ?
