Our immediate future

There could be loads of reasons for the injuries.

Bringing players back to early certainly doesn't help.

With Coleman injured again today, Moyes must be LIVID with the training and medical staff right about now. Meaning it's going to take extra long for anyone to come back.

We will be safe this year as although teams are not worse than us as bolton and other 'smaller clubs' have proven this year they do have worse results. Next year I am seriously worried we could go down. There is an air of doom floating around the club which is sucking the life out of everyone board, manager, players and fans are all feeling the strain of no investment. I am worried for the future of Everton football club not just this season but as long as we can't spend we just fall further and further behind. I still <3 Everton though b)

Well...balls to this season. Next season is looking grim also...

Rolling into 2012-2013 season

Contracts up end of this season (apparently)
Duffy
Distin
Saha
Mcfadden
Baxter
Wallace
Forshaw
McAleny

Players out -
Drenthe
Stacqualursi
Donovan

So...the "maybe's" to be sold or looking for transfers -
Bilyaletdinov
Heitinga

So with almost 8 contract renewal players, 3 loans going back, and 2 who could be shipped off that's 13 players off the books.

For us to make any transfers or to add to the squad to replace the ones leaving, the usual applies - a big name will need to be sold.

Rodwell
Fellaini
Baines

I'd rule out Barkley because he's not done anything. I'd rule out Jags because he's knocking on, and seems to be getting bad knees.

I could even exclude Rodwell, who too is getting niggling injuries and I dont think clubs will still pay the fee we want.

Additionally you have, Hibbert, Osman, Neville, Distin, Saha, Cahill all rolling in their 30+'s...

Grim. Very Grim

Add to the fact that we are already 5 players short after we got rid of Piennar, Arteta, Yakubu, Beckford & Vaughn

Next year will be the watershed with the support seeing how much trouble we are in. We are 3 seasons away from last day survival if this running of the club continues.

Think we'll be ok this season, and probably next season as well, but after that I worry. Our squad is ageing with no realistic (at present) chance of replacing those older players other than by bringing through the young lads. The balance of the squad (age span of players) is not right and without some purchases its gonna be a real struggle in 2 or 3 years.
