Mark Hughes as well eventually, not directly from us though. Or am I imagining that?
But yeah, was devastated when Kanchelskis left, even though we replaced him with Posh Spices fella.
You shop at Tesco? Rich boy!! Aldi for life!

I don't shop mate, I get my Butler to do it for me and I've heard him mention Tesco previously. What's an Aldi? That a new car I should know about and an upgrade on my 8 year old sons Audi??

The defence is definitely stronger, unfortunately our attack is non existent so they are under pressure, a lot. We have no decent attackers or attacking midfielders so the ball is bounced straight back.
Even when we had the one of the leagues best defensive records early on, we were facing lots of shots, and making lots of blocks/saves. They were under severe pressure especially when we were playing with no striker at all, but just about keeping the ball out of the net. It was never sustainable.

Phil Jones looking for a butler job if you’re hiring?
Also just remembered Tom Cleverly, Michael Keane and Morgan Schneidershite. Christ, that’s a horrendous list.

We spent close to £90 millions in the summer mate. That should have been enough for the manager to have us midtable.

The fact we're scrambling around is an indictment on his managerial ability - yes some of the business like McNeil and Vinagre wasn't good enough but I guarantee we wouldn't be bottom 3 if an Alladyce type was in the dugout.

Thats not me saying I want Alladyce either but its clear we're being mismanaged on the pitch just as much off it which is why tbh im not too fussed if we do or dont do much this window as I dont trust Lampard to utilise any incomings effectively enough.
We spent 30mil yes most transfers are done over the length of contract, but the selling club can demand what they want in terms of a down payment. Had we actually had 90mil we wouldn’t have bought probably half the players we did.

I think most think he should be doing better, but he has had to sell his best player and replace with nowhere near the same quality, never had his best number 9 and CB. And another 4/5 injuries that have impacted the squad. People will always point to a Fulham or a Brentford, who actually looked in big trouble when we beat them 4-1 in FL first game, eriksen got them out of trouble, we’ve seen loads of times where a new team comes up and has a Surprise season.

Like has been pointed out on a podcast I was listening to, in 95 after nearly going down in
94 we nearly went down again, Royle got the job in November and went on a great run and we still Weren’t safe till 4/5 games from the end.

And after 98, we looked in big trouble in 99 until Campbell came in late on. Basically if you have a poor squad and sell your best player and don’t improve much, stand to reason you will be in the bottom half again.

If we can sign 2 decent forwards and DCL stays fit I think we will be fine ,
BIG IF I know,
but the board need to do it asap, because if we don’t we’re in trouble

Hughes was about to sign for Everton from United but got injured at a game at Newcastle. A while later he joined Chelsea.

It’s clear we don’t have any money, even rumours we have to move someone out to fit elanga on loan isn’t there?

We are in a desperate state, bottom three, no goals in the team, others all strengthening and we don’t have a dime where the first half of the season suggests we really need at least three starters in to give us a chance.

I didn't like that White, in his interview with Moshiri, didn't ask about available funds for Lampard. The topics to be discussed will have been sorted out before he came on air and I think Moshiri probably told him he didn't want that question.

That's my reading of it anyway, because everyone in football knows the only solution to our problems is transfers in.

I think there's an ominous silence from the owner on that subject and only vague words from the manager on it.

We would still be in relative trouble though, which is Lampard's point in the pressers.

This squad has the capacity to be max 4-5 points better off IMO. There just isn't the goals in it for anything else.

And that would still have us pretty firmly in the battle.

All of this is different to who the manager is. Whoever the manager is needs help.

Ok, well he hardly played this season....so how have you seen him be poor when he has not played !?!

He is calm and very good on the ball, he fits a back 5 very well.

We are better as a back 5, and he is better on the ball than all our CB's, minus Mina - Who is on his way out.
He was poor last season, when I watched him play.

He's 33, he's slow. You say he's calm in possession but he's quite a hot head off the ball.

A few years ago he was pretty good. He isn't anymore and we simply don't need more depth - more very slow depth - in that position.
