Who should replace Frank Lampard?

But what’s the answer? Keep changing managers hoping the next one will help the club do better? That hasn’t worked for the last few - most of whom were amongst the best candidates available at the time. So is the problem deeper than these managers we keep bringing in?

We seem to be in a position now where we won’t attract the top managers and are also in a bit of a fight

I guess maybe a relegation fight specialist could help

We did that before of course with Allardyce who got us 8th place, but people weren’t happy with it as they didn’t like his style of play

Simply yes mate. Doesn't matter if we get new owner / new board / new players if the manager isn't producing the goods we'll still be in trouble.

Give me a good manager and bad board over a bad manager and bad board.

Why not? He’s a quality individual - one of England’s great players who knows the game well and is a young manager hungry to prove himself

Given time, he may then be able to build the foundation that some other successful managers have done when given time
Is this a joke? If he takes us down then he’ll be booted out and rightly so.

The bottom half of the table is so close on points - if Dominic Calvert-Lewin had stayed fit, there’s a good chance we’d be in the top half

Dom is not that good when he is fully fit. When he has been fit, his form has not been excellent (6 goals in 23 apps in the last 2 seasons) either.

We are 6-8 points off the top half. Calvert Lewin would make a difference but I do not think this version of Calvert-Lewin would make such a significant difference that he would take us clear of the relegation battle.

We would need the DCL of 2020 fit for the entire second half of the season and it is very unlikely, sadly.

What if we sack him, purely because of the league position, but with the reality of the situation being that we’re in the position because we don’t have a striker, which is not only Lampard’s fault

And then replace him with someone less talented, influential and successful in the game - say Dyche, who was mentioned

We have then lowered the quality again in terms of who is involved with the club

If we’re then relegated under Dyche due to not having good forward players, we’re then in the championship anyway, but with a worse manager to try to get us back up

This is the reality of the position the club is now in

If anyone should be sacked I’d say Moshiri and the fans would be first in line, followed by the forward players, Thelwell and then Lampard

Lampard is one of the best things the club has going for it at present

Sean dyche is a better football manager then Frank lampard. There is no way you could argue anything else logically surely

Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, again and again and again...and again, until they kill the Omega theatre empresario.

Sat if he’d got 4 more goals for us than we currently have, that could have made at least a 4 point difference - putting us in at least 12th place as things stand

Dyche has experience as a manager of low to mid tier premiership / championship teams but Lampard is a young manager, bright guy, driven with a lot of experience at the top of the game and I feel his ceiling could ultimately be a fair bit higher than Dyche’s, given time

Also, as mentioned, the club recruited well in the summer excluding the striker department - that’s the key problem but are we expecting them to have nailed everything

Coady, Tarkowski, Onana and Gueye were all good signings

Absolutely... Just.... Wow

Lampard failed at Derby with one of the biggest budget in the league and sending them close to oblivion thereafter, failed at Chelsea with genuine world class players and yet some think he will succeed here by just throwing more players at him.

He couldn`t do it at Chelsea with Mendy, Reece James, Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Chilwell, Kovacic, Mount, Havertz, Pulisic etc why do you think he will be a success here if he cant do it with the quality of player we will never possess???

How do you define ‘failed’?

Are you being realistic?
