Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good deed done today. Just been to Sainsbury's, at the check out I was behind an old lady in the queue. Her bill came to £56.83 but when she counted out all her change; she only had just under £50. I thought she was probably someone’s Nana and I’d like to think someone would have helped my Nana out. So I thought “come on Ducan lad it’s Xmas”... She didn’t want me to help her but I insisted, and in no time at all we had all her shopping back on the shelves.........

As I was reading that I'm thinking, blimey there's a Sainsbury in Canada.

Just about to start cooking my Spanish style chichen with chorizo. With the help of a nice Cornush beer of course, this one brewed just down the road.

Chicken with chorizo is just brilliant. We do ours with baked vegs all in one dish. Sweet potatos, parsnips, carrots and a few spuds, sprinkled with oregano. Produces the most delicious sauce/roux as well.

Mine's in one dish too. No parsnips, carrots or potato for me. I use shallots, whole garlic cloves, red pepper and sweet potato. This one is purple which I didn't realise until I cut it open. Lots of lemon juice and avocado oil (which I prefer sometimes to olive) to create the sauce. Plus oregano of course.

It was you who gave me the idea for it.

I think that would be too sweet for my palate. I can’t be doing with sweet potatoes at all but being able to serve them with parsnip is not something I would expect to work. Having said that, parsnip works with vanilla so what do I know really lol
