Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all. Friend bought me a journal a couple of years ago to jot down a random thought each day. This week is blank because I wasn’t well enough to make an entry, nothing serious just combination of consequences of falling over + chest infection left me feeling ropey. It’s a lovely morning bit breezy, good day for hanging out the washing, mundane but given how I felt last year its great just to be able to do it.
For those suffering hope your troubles are eased and have a good day, all.?
Have I missed something H? When did you fall down?

I can be a bugger for reading half a post, replying to it, and then not reading the rest of the post. I guess that's another Je suis Fred moment;)

Jazzy and H should enjoy this.

I was watching Jeremy Vine this morning and Mike Parry was one of the panel. If anybody doesn't know Mike Parry the terms "gammon" and "dinosaur" could have been created with him in mind. He's basically OTT in everything he say's and does. He's also an avid Evertonian but let's leave that for now.

This morning there was a discussion on vegetarian sausages. Mike Parry was asked to try two different sausage butties and determine which one was vegetarian and which one meat. He attacked this in his usual exuberant fashion, claiming that the first (vegetarian option) was like eating cardboard, and the second (meat option) was both tasty and succulent and was just like the one he had for breakfast earlier this morning.

The look on his face when Jeremy Vine revealed that both options were vegetarian was priceless. lol

It reminded me a little bit of the Rick Stein episode where there was a blind tasting of 10 Christmas puds, and he picked out the Aldi's own brand pudding as the best.lol Don't think there were any crisps on the menu though H.

Like the guy in Ex Machina.

I think I could just about manage that with Alicia Vikander for company. ;)

Edit. How are you doing today mate. Any better?
Good shout that on both counts ?

Symptoms on the way down thankfully but I am still positive. I’m eating a bit more and am pondering a little 5 min stroll in the garden to get some air.

If the weather is anything like it is down here I'd keep pondering AT. ;)
My 5 min walk turned into a 2 min one as the rain started. It’s still very bright but raining so God knows what way this day will turn out.

Anyway, time for me to rest again with a film. I watched All quiet on the Western Front last night and it was really good.

Is that the German one?. Started watching it the other night but it was a bit grim for the mood I was in. Looked good though so I will carry on when I'm in the right frame of mind. I like films that show the other perspective than we normally see.

Not seen that one mate. But I've just discovered an Alicia Vikander film on Netflix I've not seen. Earthquake Bird. Might watch that later.

What was that I was saying about old letches ?
It’s a series of 45 min horror stories. First one did the trick for me and now onto number 2.

Never heard of Earthquake Bird but let me know if you recommend or not. Story wise obviously ;)

Very sad to see the passing of Leslie Phillips Anj.

On the positive side, at least it's one of the myths about me dispelled. :)

Seriously though, I hope we get to see some of his old films on telly. He really had the old leche

Ding Dong.
Lol! I actually really like him in the Carry On films. Been reading his obituary and he is survived by his third wife - aged 63! Life imitating art?
