Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, bright day here. Not much planned other than shopping this morning. I’ll probably do some family history whilst listening to match commentary this afternoon. I had trouble with my e-mails recently, @Terrarian, realised that some reminders from insurance etc.were missing, trawled through hundreds of junk ones, I don’t usually check them, I know I should but don’t bother that often. Nothing. Transpired that B.T. had decided that they were spam and blocked the sender, fortunately no harm done but could have ended up costing us. Hope you get a good deal on Daisy’s insurance, T. Have a good day all and COYB’s.?
Talking of BT my contract is up january. I called the other day to ask about cancelling the remainder as talk talk give the exact same speeds for less than half price. The advisor told me to ring a number and they'd price match it.

So I called and got a right nob on the end of the phone and it's nonsense they'll price match. I will be leaving them asap how can the same service cost double.

Have you tried ringing in the evening? They have quotas to fill for sign -ups etc. and if they haven’t reached their targets they are often open to negotiating. Last year I got some knocked off the price of my broadband and I told them to cancel BT sport and got that reduced as well.

I perhaps would have listened, he did say that they could remove features to reduce price but and I quote "it's still not a £24 service", tell that to talk talk. He was a condescending bell end so I just cut the call sharpish. I'm moving to TT, I have been with BT years, that's the thanks you get.

Look at seeing if you can up your contract as sometimes they have offers, for a better package, which is less than what you're currently playing.

Our Virgin package was up, and my wife increased the speed of the internet, went all time calls and added Sky Movies, which brought our bill down by £20pm.

A sad sad day for me
My dear friend and painting teacher passed unexpectedly yesterday
She shone bright in my life the last ten years since I first asked her to treach me to paint …. She was a warm lovely woman as a friend and a tough constructive critic of my work
I’ll miss her I’ll pop ? be if her paintings that’s in my wall at home … a unique voice
So sorry to hear about your close friend and teacher. You must have some wonderful memories together. I'll pray for you and her family.

I absolutely hate dealing with phone/media companies on the phone. They just make it so difficult for you.

Afternoon guys. Miserable day down here in Cornwall, I think you lot may be getting it later.

Done all my betting and fantasy football duties for the day and just about to sit down to my posh sausage butties for lunch. Left over braised steak for tea so an easy day on the cooking side for me today. May have a bottle or two of my favourite Spingo beer later this afternoon.

Just seen some local news that has made me very sad. The Rock Pool cafe at Mousehole (just outside Penzance) is closing down. For many years it has been a favourite lunch venue for Cal and I. Apparently the lease is up and isn't being renewed, so I guess it, and the adjacent land which is currently a private car park, is up for development. Although the likelihood is I'll never go there again anyway, it's a place that holds some special memories for me so it's sad to see it close down. Google it if you get the chance, it has some fabulous views as you would expect down here.

My turn to pester people. Not seen you for a while @jazzy. Hope all okay with you and Mrs J.

Sorry to hear that mate, hope you're ok.

Is everyone good otherwise? I've just decided to read my emails that for some reason I hadn't opened for 3 months, get fed up of negativity or bills don't you. Found out my pet insurance has been cancelled ffs, not bothered they were a cowboy outfit if you ask me so I shall have to set up a new one next month.

Have a good one, I need to keep an eye on the date, days are passing me by and I have Drs appointments soon, don't want to miss it.
Tell us when and I am sure one of us will prompt you the day before .

I have to make sure that the different providers have a mast near me .I use the cellmapper apk and it shows which provider has coverage and where. There must be one for where you live .

The 31st blue, halloween. I'm losing track of dates, sure my memory is going a bit.
Did you forget the month ? Joking of course . On IPTV as I know you are a fan ,I got a second and it has 17,000 channels !!! luckily useing it with Tivimate I can delete blocks e.g. Argentinian malaysian and so on and then I can hide channels in the UK list when they duplicated as in ---HD,---fhd---and ---1080or 4K .Oh and it cost 30€ per year .

No idea blue on that one.

Right on cue I get a letter today about renewing the contract. I can save a whole £2 lol lol that will be £49 still more than double for the exact same speeds.

I just googled the Rock Pool cafe and what a great place with a stunning view!! I can understand your sadness. Try to think of all the wonderful times you had there!
