Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. Hope you are having a lovely day. Loved the pics of Burghley @Gwladysover. @blue1948 it must be starting to get really dark for most of the day in your corner of the world. Not sure I could deal with that. I love the light nights. I think it's a bit colder in the North East than Cornwall @Barnfred 55 - we've had the heating on about 4 times this month. I love the autumn colours. The trees across the road are gorgeous. I'll take a pic later.
So, at 2pm on this day 31 years ago I became Mrs F. I've now lived in County Durham longer than I lived in Liverpool. We have decided to go out for tea. Who says romance is dead when your booking is entirely dependent on it being happy hour in the restaurant. ? We are going to a place called the Italian Farmhouse which is a pub that brews its own beer and has an Italian restaurant attached. Never had a bad meal there. No more than 5 minutes walk from home. So we can both have a drink and be home to see some of the match. Which may be a good thing or a bad thing.
I known it's early but I'm trying to sort out logistics for Christmas. I'm sure the invasion of Iraq was easier to plan! We have family in Liverpool, son in Nottingham, brother and wife arriving in Liverpool from Australia on Boxing Day, daughter's first full week after training in her new job as a prison officer starts on Boxing Day. I'm assuming she will have to work. Son's girlfriend's family are from Romford so they want to also visit her family.
Anyway, here's to three points tonight.....please Frank, it's my wedding anniversary!!! Have a lovely day all x
Congrats Anj.

Went to give blood earlier. First time. I was expecting an in/out thing, cos they asked me to turn up at pretty much the exact time of the appt. So did. Blimey, it was like some industrial scale operation, wards, hospital beds, the works, and dozens of folks obviously miles before me.

Started filling out the questions on the paper, then got the familier signs of a panic attack on the way. (2nd since Nik left us) Said as much to a nurse hovering near by, and bless her cottons, she said, "not surprised. You are obvs a first timer, and I noticed you going pale and the hand shaking. Take yourself off to your safe place, and take it from there"

The safe place is what Nik called Snevets, (our cottage), its mine as well. Judge all you want, but the world never hurt neither of us here. As a paraphrase, if you know what I am on about, you need no more explanation.

Takes a while this shiz.
Nothing to judge you about mate, normal behaviour to be nervous about new surroundings. And the medical set up was bound to trigger a few bad memories for you.

Good morning all on this dark and damp day here in Hyvinkää .Well another lacklustre display at least the first half .We are worse off for poits than this stage last year .I think the problem is a striker and that should fall at Thelwells feet but we all know whose head will roll ,my only fault with Frank is that having been successful he is too easy to let it show that he thinks we will lose ,it probably stems from his experience that a losing run will not last long but that seems to transfer to the players and they "Don't see the point " .At least that is my take on the way it is going at the moment .My thoughts , Garner was solid when he came on and Gray is the modern day Beagrie .I hope all slept well and don't dwell on the football side of things too long today .COYB.

Pick up a few points in the next 4 to get us through to January then add a bit of guile and a slotter and we will be fine.

Defence and midfield sorted in one window was good work but that we went for Kudus confirms that efforts will be made to address the final third.

I’m easy enough about it.

Good morning all on this dark and cold day here in Finland .I hope all are are well and had a fine night .I am looking forward to tonight but it pales into insignificance when I think of what @Barnfred 55 and @roydo are going through .We can do no more than be here for them and try to console if possible ,which we do try to do as best we can .Have a great day all and a word from @Terrarian and @fandjango would brighten the day .
It is times like these we need are @Sassycolumbian back .This thread misses her so much ,if only to sort Fred's phone out .
Have a great day all.
Hi Blue, I'm all ok, not really doing too much, it is wet and cold but still trying not to put the heating on. I've discovered a new band I like and have been listening quite a lot.

They're a different sound, hard rock/metal but with synths and electronic elements, wouldn't surprise me if they were into dance music as well, also very rock opera at times a really good different sound. They're called Seas On The Moon from Moldova.

I think they may have started out as an instrumental band and have expanded to have a few different singers.
This is my favourite singer so far, Athena doing a cover of titanium.

Anyway hope everyone is good and well. I will have a read back now.

On another note I passed the 5 year anniversary of being sober a couple of days ago. I am so pleased I proved everybody wrong. Nobody thought I could do it. I wasn't an alcoholic, I binge drank a couple of times a week on days off but I did like a bevvy. Just such a shame I am not a very nice drunk and really should have gave up years ago.

How ever as most of you know I recently got diagnosed with some personality disorders, it was always so easy to blame the alcohol for my f-ups, when in reality I had issues and all the alcohol did was loosen the belt on letting it all out. I seem to be moving slowly in the other direction now and getting help but I really do wish I had given drink up sooner.

Oh and I missed the game last night, forgot. We are struggling to score. We're solid but always under pressure because the forwards aren't good enough(wide lads anyway)

Well done T. I have long heard it said that alcohol is a privilege and not something for everyone.

Re the football, I think that team is a couple of forward players short of top 8 with maybe a push for Europe. Get through this season (and we will) and I fully expect Dom and Gordon to be flogged for reinvestment in a brand new forward line.

Congrats on your five year anniversary, a fantastic achievement. Try not to fret over not giving up sooner, you did it and that’s the important thing.

I think you’re right

Congratulations T keep working at it and big ups to you for taking responsibility for your own f ups … courageous

Morning all on this very dark, very wet morning, a complete change from the past few mornings. Feel sorry for the children going by to school getting soaked, however lots of them, particularly the older ones are’t wearing coats. I supposed it isn’t good for their image to be seen wearing a coat.
After last night’s game I got a text from my brother- Which will happen first Truss goes or Everton win?
Have a good day all?

Do you listen to much Gary Numan T. His more recent stuff is quite heavy but with the old synth too. Brilliant live. Catch one of his live YouTube videos. There's lots out there. I'll give this band of yours a look see. Sounds right up my street. Was a massive Hawkwind fan as a kid. First group I ever saw live in 73 when I was 12. Told me mum I was staying over in my mates to do some exam revising?

I have heard some of his stuff, my brother was the one into Numan more but I got most of my musical tastes from my older brother, except dance music and rap lol I liked electronic stuff like OMD, Kraftwerk, Jean Michelle Jarre etc so I always gravitated towards trance/electronic music as well.

I think you will enjoy these Freddo very good clean sound, the only minor thing is some of the singers, who all have belting voices, also growl in sections, Athena doesn't but Lena and Morphide do. It doesn't really detract from the singing though, the girls have angelic voices as well as a guttural growl lol
