Serbia says hi. As does Libya and Egypt. First one direct NATO attack on a country without any legal justification the second two NATO actions in all but name.

By China do you mean they're seeking to take over Taiwan when you say the territory of others? Kinda forgetting legally Taiwan is part of China...

NATO was not involved in any of these actions. So once again, why would NATO invade Russia ?…..

NATO did not invade Iraq. If NATO wanted to take over any country on the planet they could do so and there is no power that could stop them. If NATO wanted the oil producing Middle East nothing could stop them. If they wanted South America or Africa nothing could stop them. NATO exists to ensure that those countries within it are protected. The only powers on the planet seeking to take over the territories of others are Russia and China. The only threat that NATO has towards both is to deny them to do so……so, once again, why would NATO wish to invade Russia ?…..

the problem is pete that whilst NATO didn't, NATO members did

Bush and Blair going into Iraq and kicking that off, in the absence of UN authorization and with idiots like PNAC tossing themselves off about getting hold of resources is what has legitimized this. Further idiocy like Libya and Syria has just emboldened it, as has a fairly clear realization that many politicians in the West are up for sale, incompetent and do not understand what they must do it order to fix things.

"Five of these countries supplied combat forces directly participating in the invasion of Iraq: the United States, Denmark, United Kingdom, Australia, and Poland'.

If our man @davids wants to discuss this then I suggest a new thread and everyone can pile in on that

Members of the UN Security Council went into Iraq. Don’t give these other two Russian apologists room for manoeuvre. A very simple question, why would NATO wish to invade Russia ?…..

I don't think it would, but whether or not it would is neither here nor there.

If you want to talk about unjustified invasions that cause humanitarian disasters and years of crises, then 2003 is as bad as 2022. Acknowledging that is not helping "Russian apologists", its acknowledging a fact that the law (any law) can only work if it is applied to all in a fair and just manner.

I'd like to see Putin in a dock for what he has done, and I'd like to see Bush and Blair in one too.

I thought previously that you and @bluestevon were seriously debating Ukraine, but you are not. You are just putting up any excuse for Russia. Like Russia towards Ukraine, we can all see what you are doing…..

Biden condemns Putin's 'utter brutality' after Russian missile strikes

President Joe Biden said the US “strongly condemns” Russian missile strikes on cities across Ukraine, which demonstrate Vladimir Putin’s “utter brutality” against the Ukrainian people.

In a statement, Biden added:

These attacks killed and injured civilians and destroyed targets with no military purpose. They once again demonstrate the utter brutality of Mr Putin’s illegal war on the Ukrainian people.
We offer our condolences to the familes and loved ones of those who were senselessly killed today, as well as our best wishes for the recovery of those who were wounded.
Today’s attacks only further reinforce the US’s commitment to stand with the people of Ukraine “for as long as it takes”, Biden continued.

We will continue to impose costs on Russia for its aggression, hold Putin and Russia accountable for its atrocities and war crimes, and provide the support necessary for Ukrainian forces to defend their country and their freedom.

You tell em Uncle Joe.

Because the are US puppets?

that is one of the more idiotic pro-Russian talking points here

If anything, the US is the one responding to its European (especially its Eastern European) allies, rather than directing their behaviour. The Poles for example know what could happen in the future and have no wish to experience that again; to say they are being manipulated into fearing Russia is ludicrous given the history of Poland - Russia relations.
