Report: Everton Look to Bring Jhon Duran Back to the Premier League

The Toffees are interested in signing former Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran before the window closes.

The Columbian international played at Villa Park for two years and impressed during his time in England.

The 22-year-old was sold to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in January last year in a deal believed to be worth around £64m.

However, Duran packed his bags once more, making a season-long loan move to Fenerbahçe in July last year.

Now it seems that the forward could be on the move for a third time in 12 months, with a return to the Premier League reported.

Indeed, as per Turkish outlet Sabah, Duran is eager to return to the English top-flight, generating interest among a number of clubs.

The Colombian is reportedly on Everton’s radar ahead of deadline day. However, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and West Ham could rival the Blues for his signature.

The report states that Duran was absent from training this week to facilitate negotiations, with Napoli also interested.

DURAN WAS IMPRESSIVE AT VILLA, BUT INJURY RECORD AND WAGES A CAUSE FOR CONCERN

Fenerbahçe paid close to a £20m loan fee for Duran in the summer, so will need to be compensated.

While the report doesn’t specify, any move for the forward would presumably be on loan. However, wages could be a stumbling block.

In 10 Turkish Super Lig games this season, Duran has scored three goals, contributing a further three assists.

the former Villa player missed 55 consecutive days through injury in the early part of the season, so could be a gamble.

Meanwhile, Beto has been linked with a move away from Merseyside, with the Everton forward on Juventus’ radar.

Jhon Duran’s first Aston Villa goal was against Everton. Could he return to the Premier League to help fire the Blues into a European spot?
