Everton are reportedly considering sending Adam Aznou out on loan in the January window.
Aznou joined the Blues in an £8m deal from Bayern Munich in the summer, but is yet to establish himself.
The 19-year-old suffered an injury shortly after joining the club and has since found opportunities limited.
A poor display for the U21s in a 5-1 defeat to Bradford was another indicator that he is not ready for senior football.
However, as per Africa Foot, the Toffees could sanction a loan to speed up the Moroccan’s development.
Indeed, La Liga side Getafe are reportedly interested in signing the left-back on loan.
David Moyes has called on the youngster to develop physically, so a loan might be a smart move.
LOAN COULD BE A GOOD MOVE FOR AZNOU IN JANUARY
Speaking with the Liverpool Echo earlier this month, the Everton manager revealed what he wants to see from the defender.
“First of all, I want him to be with us and I want him to train and get used to him,” he said.
“He’s a really good footballer, a nice footballer. He’s just got a bit of building up to do, a bit of physicality to get, so we’ll do that and we’ll see how he develops.
“He’s above that level (U21s), but it doesn’t mean that he might not need to get a few games – if we’re struggling to get him game time, we might need to use him (in the U21s) at different times.”
Aznou is yet to dislodge the out-of-form Mykolenko, which is surely an indicator that Moyes doesn’t yet think he’s ready.
A temporary move in the New Year would allow the youngster time to develop and return a more mature player.
He’s an exciting prospect and a graduate of Barcelona’s La Masia, but gaining experience elsewhere could be a wise move.
