The 20-year-old was Everton’s U21’s Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign, and made the loan move on transfer deadline day.
Just 24 hours later, Heath put in an ‘outstanding’ performance, as Stanley took on Fleetwood in the Vertu Trophy Northern Group G game.
A goal after three minutes set the standard, finishing with aplomb into the roof of the net. Heath’s dream start continued, providing an assist for teammate Alex Henderson.
Fleetwood clawed the game back to 2-2, beating Stanley 7-6 on penalties. However, Heath also converted his spot kick during the penalty shoot out.
Accrington Stanley manager John Doolan was full of praise for the winger following his ‘unbelievable debut’.
He said: “Isaac Heath, with his goal after three minutes, and his assist as well, it was an outstanding little debut for him.
“He was very good. It was an unbelievable debut for him, wasn’t it?
“He showcased everything. Every bit of talent that he’s got, it was evident there for everyone to see.”
It was a night to remember for the academy star, who should gain invaluable experience while at Accrington.
Heath was named in four of David Moyes’ match day squads towards the end of last season. Indeed the left-winger also trained with the first team squad on a regular basis.
Six goal contributions in 16 games last season for Paul Tait’s U’21s earned the youngster the Player of the Season award.
Now the Leeds-born attacker has the chance to prove himself out on loan, and no doubt there are high hopes for the young man.
Perhaps next season we will see Isaac Heath in a blue shirt at Bramley-Moore Dock.
