With the transfer window set to close tomorrow, the 21-year-old forward looks set to complete an £8m move to the SPL side.
The overall fee could rise to £10m for the Portuguese U21 striker, whose career never really got going at Everton.
Signed in 2023 from Sporting, the Blues paid an initial fee of £11.5m for the youngster. However, the forward has made just 22 appearances, failing to find the net.
As per the Daily Record, it seems Chermiti’s time with the Toffees is up after a disappointing spell.
Unfortunate with injuries throughout his time at Everton, it seems the club has decided to recoup what they can for the young striker.
His departure will mean Moyes’ striking options are limited to Beto and Thierno Barry, who arrived from Villarreal this summer.
Beto got off the mark this week, with a goal against Mansfield midweek followed by his first league goal of the campaign in yesterday’s 3-2 win at Wolves.
However, Moyes recently suggested that Everton would bring in further recruits ‘if we can’.
The Everton boss said: “We could do but I don’t want to raise expectations all of the time. I’ve said throughout the summer that we will be making signings and we have done.”
He continued: Whether we get anything over the line before Monday night, I couldn’t be sure of that. If we can do it great, if we can’t, we’ll go with what we’ve got.”
Everton looked sharp in yesterday’s win at Wolves, with creativity added this summer. Indeed, the arrivals of Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in particular paying dividends.
However, another striker in the ranks would be ideal given the threadbare options upfront.
