‘Bit by bit’: Seamus Coleman shares what David Moyes has tried to change since his Everton return

Everton captain Seamus Coleman insists that David Moyes is changing the club’s mindset since his return.

Ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Wolves, Coleman has revealed that ‘bit by bit’ the Everton boss is looking to improve away form.

Speaking with the Liverpool Echo, Coleman said: “Wolves is a tough place to go and the game against Leeds showed us that if you’re not at it, you get stung.”

He continued: “We weren’t at it and we didn’t deserve anything out of the game, I don’t think. But I do think the Brighton game and the role even Jack played and the fans getting on side have just kind of turned this season again quite quickly after maybe the not-so-good feeling against Leeds.

We’re excited to go there, we’re confident to go there, and again, you go to earn the right. But we have been good on the road and the manager’s constantly, bit by bit, changing the mindset.”

BIG IMPROVEMENT IN AWAY FORM UNDER MOYES

Indeed, Moyes has certainly improved our away form since taking over in January. In nine games on the road under the Scot, the Blues picked up 17 points.

With five wins, two draws and two defeats, away form was significantly better than under Sean Dyce. In the 10 away games under Dyche prior to his dismissal last season, a total of seven points were earned.

With a solitary victory at Ipswich, Dyche also managed four draws, alongside five defeats.

Quite an improvement in the second half of the campaign. However, Everton will have to do better at Molyneux tomorrow than they did at Elland Road on the opening day.

A controversial penalty settled the tie against Leeds in a 1-0 defeat. The performance however was lacklustre and lacking creativity.

However, the subsequent arrivals of Jack Grealish and Tyler Dibling have added some spark to Everton’s attack.

It was a 1-1 draw at Molyneux last season. Hopefully the Toffees can go one better this campaign.
