Everton Open Talks for Jack Grealish Loan Move

Everton have entered discussions with Manchester City over a potential season-long loan for England international Jack Grealish, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.

While the deal is described as “complicated” and far from certain, Everton have made an official approach for the 29-year-old winger, whose future at City appears uncertain following limited involvement in recent seasons.

Grealish has struggled for game time, starting just seven Premier League matches in the 2024-25 campaign. He was an unused substitute in City’s FA Cup final loss to Crystal Palace and was left out of the squad entirely for their final league game against Fulham. Despite this, manager Pep Guardiola maintained his support for the player, insisting: “I’m the person who fought for him to come here and to stay.”

Since joining Manchester City from Aston Villa in 2021 for £100 million, Grealish has won three Premier League titles and played a key role in City’s treble-winning 2022-23 season, including starting every knockout match of their historic Champions League run.

In the past two seasons, Grealish has managed just 20 league appearances each year, with only ten starts in 2023-24 and seven in 2024-25. His international career has also stalled, having been omitted from Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad and yet to receive a call-up under new England boss Thomas Tuchel.

Everton are hoping a move to Merseyside could help revive Grealish’s form and offer him regular top-flight football. However, it remains to be seen whether City and the player will agree to the move.
