Everton Announce Final Goodison Plans

Everton will mark the end of Goodison Park with a special celebration on Sunday 18 May, as the Blues host Southampton in what will be the final home match at the Grand Old Lady.

After 133 years of iconic football moments, generations of memories, and unwavering passion, the curtain is preparing to fall on Goodison — and the Club has laid out plans to give the stadium a send-off worthy of its legacy.

A Day Like No Other

Kick-off is at 12pm, but the build-up begins long before then. Supporters’ group The 1878s are planning a special coach welcome, encouraging fans to line the route and generate a vibrant, emotional atmosphere as the team arrives for the final time. Full details, including timings and safety guidance, will be released closer to the day via official Club and 1878 channels.

After the final whistle, Evertonians are urged to stay in their seats for a poignant post-match ceremony titled ‘End of an Era’. The hour-long tribute will take place on the pitch and will feature a mix of current players, club legends, live music performances, and specially-produced content that captures the soul of Goodison Park.

To make the most of the occasion, food and drink — including alcohol — will be available on the concourses after full-time. Supporters will be allowed to bring their refreshments back to their seats to enjoy the tribute, with bar service continuing until 2:45pm.

The Club and Merseyside Police have respectfully requested that fans without a ticket for the match do not travel to Goodison or gather around the stadium. With thousands set to attend this emotional goodbye, the focus is on ensuring the safety of all supporters, residents, players, and staff — and to allow everyone inside the ground to fully absorb the historic moment.
