Mauricio Pochettino planning Dele Alli talks

New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his intention to contact Dele Alli to “help him and see what is going on.”

Alli, who spent the majority of his Spurs career playing under Pochettino, has experienced a sharp decline in recent years, both in terms of form and fitness. Once an indispensable figure for Tottenham Hotspur and the England national team at a young age, he fell out of favour under Pochettino’s successor, Jose Mourinho. His struggles continued during the reigns of Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte at Tottenham.

Last year, on the deadline day of the January transfer window, Alli decided to end his seven-year stay at Spurs and joined Everton in the hope of revitalizing his career. However, he failed to make a significant impact for the Toffees and was subsequently sent on loan to Besiktas last season.

Although the Turkish club had the option to sign Alli permanently this summer, they declined the opportunity due to the player falling out of favor.

Now back at Everton, Alli’s future remains uncertain and his former manager, Pochettino, has expressed his desire to assist him.

Pochettino stated, “I hope to find some time to call and see him because he is a great guy, and I want to have a little chat with him and listen. I want to help him and understand what is going on with him. He is still young, and I believe he has the right mentality. It has been a long time since I last spoke to him, but I want to contact him again and see how things are.”
