Frank Lampard has lamented defensive mistakes in Everton’s 4-1 thrashing to Brighton at Goodison Park.
Lampard: “It’s very disappointing, even the first half. Three goals, defensive mistakes in six minutes from us finished the game. They were pivotal to the game. Individual mistakes and collective defending [cost us].
“I saw enough on Saturday in terms of parts of the performance. What isn’t good enough is the consistency… The first half I didn’t hate. The six minutes is not good enough for us and if you’re going to perform like that defensively, you’re going to lose games.
“Since I’ve been in here, we’ve been in this situation of relegation battle so it’s not a case of fear. It’s a case of keep working… I don’t focus on it.
“We’re all in it together. It’s not a question of anger. We’re all disappointed. I’m a Premier League football manager so there’s constant pressure.”
