Everton have agreed a €15m deal for Davy Klaassen from Werder Bremen, according to various reports in Germany.
Klaassen will miss tonight’s friendly with Blackburn Rovers and following talks, is expected to break Werder Bremen’s transfer record – agreeing a four-year contract to be confirmed ‘at some stage today‘.
Big things were expected of Klaassen when he arrived at the Blues from Ajax last summer for a fee around £24 million, but his time at Goodison has been nothing short of a nightmare.
The Dutchman made just 16 appearances in all competitions in his debut campaign at Everton, and was banished from first team duties for the majority of the season.
He was withdrawn early in the second half against Bournemouth and didn’t have a sniff of Premier League action until the campaign spiralled to an unsatisfying end, where he came off the bench three times in the Toffees’ final nine fixtures.
