Everton have announced the signing of Turkish centre forward Cenk Tosun from Beşiktaş for a fee rumoured to be around the £27 million mark.

Capped 25 times by his country, he managed 41 strikes in 96 games for the Black Eagles in the Super Lig.

German-born Tosun has put pen to paper on a four and a half year deal at Goodison Park.

Here’s what Tosun had to say about the move: “I’m really happy to be here and happy that everything is done. I’m really excited to play for Everton as soon as possible. Everton is a great club with a big history and a big culture and I’m looking forward to showing the fans the kind of player I am.

“I bring my skills here and everybody is going to see what kind of player I am. I believe I can be a good player in the Premier League.

“The Premier League is a strong league, I know that, so my own physical strength will help me. Also I can use both feet the same and I believe I am a good striker in the box.

“I’m really looking forward to training with my teammates and getting to know them and, of course, I want to play as soon as possible. The Tottenham game will be the first game I am available for and I’m very excited about it already.”

Hi guys, congrats for signing Cenk Tosun. He’s a brilliant signing!
There is a detailed English scouting report from Turkish top scouting platform side, TrScouts. You can check it out here: http://trscouts.co/cenk-tosun/
I hope it helps you to know him better.

hey lads, Im Everton's new fan from Turkey. As Cenk will play at Everton, that means we will watch all Everton games and support them ! As a football expert (all Turks are expert in football and politics :)) ; I guess you are excited to see Cenk's skills. Although i know Cenk very well, i really can't tell if he will perform well or not at Everton. Because he is not a stand alone player and it is wrong to expect from him to eliminate 3-4 rival defenders and score a goal. It is not impossible but this is… Read more »

On paper, and from what the turkish restaurant say, he has potential.

Let's hope soo.

Can't judge him, before I've seen him play.

A bit sceptic though, i must admit.

Yeah this is basically how I feel. I'm just going to see how he does when he pulls on the shirt.

I just hope he has a bit of quality about him. Sorry I just don't feel this with DCL and Niasse.

In the announcement video it's broad daylight, so he was signed in the afternoon, but they literally waited until half time of a derby game to announce it. For what reason? Why couldn't they announce it straight after the Barkley news? What the hell is this club.

this morning would have been much better and probably lifted our spirits maybe a little after losing lastnight. have it on sky sport news, make a big deal over it like normal etc etc..

the way its been done is baffling

Got to be a better option than Calvert Lewis, a sea lion holds the ball up longer than that kid.

To be fair, that sea lion would have a statue next to Dixie's if we would have matched the transfer fee.
