Lukaku Sold To Man Utd

Everton have confirmed the transfer of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in a deal worth an initial £75million with the potential be worth around £100m in total.

Lukaku, who joined Everton permanently in July 2014, In all competitions, hit 16 in 2013/14, 20 in 2014/15, 25 in 2015/16 and a career best of 26 in 2016/17 – his last season at Everton.

Lukaku’s Everton career started with a bang when he scored a winning goal at West Ham United on his debut, before grabbing a brace at home to Newcastle United.

He continued to find the net regularly as the season progressed, netting another double in the home Merseyside derby and a wonderstrike in the 3-0 thrashing of Arsenal.

Upon Everton returning to Europe, his move to Goodison Park was rubber-stamped in July 2014. Lukaku picked up from where he left off by scoring 20 goals in 47 games for Everton in the 2014/15 campaign, finishing as the joint-top goalscorer in the UEFA Europa League with eight European strikes.

2015/16 brought more goals – 25 from 46 matches in all competitions which included a run of netting in eight straight matches during November and December.

Lukaku’s standout strike, undoubtedly, was his opener in the FA Cup quarter-final victory over Chelsea – a wonderful weaving run-and-finish which booked the Toffees’ trip to Wembley.

The 2016/17 was even more fruitful for Lukaku, who finished with 32 goals in 43 appearances for Club and country.

He finished the term by taking home the Club’s Players’ Player of the Year and Player of the Year awards from the inaugural Dixies event at the iconic Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
