Blue Carpet

Evertonians who are unable to get their hands on a ticket for the Club’s upcoming end of season awards can still experience all the excitement and be in with the chance of meeting their footballing heroes, thanks to a unique blue carpet event taking place before the awards ceremony kicks-off.

The Dixies’, which will be attended by manager Ronald Koeman and his entire squad, will include a ‘premier style’ VIP blue carpet where supporters and passers-by can enjoy meet and greets with Blue stars, as they arrive.

The inaugural awards are being hosted at the Royal Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool on Tuesday night and limited tickets are now remaining, however the VIP blue carpet is open to the public and will run between 6:30pm – 7:30pm.

Large screens will also be located next to a stage, ensuring that no one will miss the arrival of Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku, Phil Jagielka and the rest of the first team squad. David Unsworth’s table topping Premier League 2 Champions, champion boxer Tony Bellew and a whole host of Blues legends will also be walking the blue carpet.

On the stage, attendees will be able to enjoy a live show, hosted by Radio Merseyside’s Giulia Bould, including player and guest interviews.

Graeme Sharp, Everton Ambassador, will be in attendance on the night. He said: “Everyone is really looking forward to the first ever ‘Dixies’ awards and we’ve been delighted to see how many Blues have bought tickets to join us on the night.

“But what’s really special is how accessible the event will be. The squad walking on the blue carpet will create a real buzz for the fans – whether they’ve got a ticket or not!”

A road closure will take place from 5am for 24-hours on Hope Street from Caledonia Street to Myrtle Street junction and Caledonia Street, at the junction with Hope Street will also be closed.

The revamped awards, which are being hosted by BBC Sport presenter Mark Chapman, takes place at the Royal Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool on Tuesday 9 May and a few remaining tickets are available at a variety of affordable prices.

Presentations on the night will include Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season, Player’s Player of the Season, Under-23 Player of Season, the Chairman’s Blueblood Award, the Howard Kendall Award and the Fan of the Year.
