Everton confirmed today Director of Communications Alan Myers has left the Club for ´personal reasons´

Mr Myers, who re-joined the club from Sky Sports in August 2013, leaves his position at Goodison Park after tendering his resignation.

In a statement on the club website, a Club spokesman said: “Alan has informed the Club that he sees his future career away from the demand of Goodison Park. We respect Alan´s wishes and would like to thank him for the contribution he has made since arriving at Everton. Everyone at the Club wishes him the very best for the future.

Alan took to Twitter to confirm his departure, saying: “@ALANMYERS1 I wish to confirm that I have left Everton and want to thank the fans so much for their kindness, understanding, and help in my short time.”

He expressed his gratitude to Roberto Martinez, the players and the staff and wanted the fans to know that he will be an Evertonian until he is put in a box!

Alan done plenty to unite and bring Everton fans together, as well as organising events such as the Everton Tea Party which was a great success.
