Everton open their 2013/14 Premiership campaign with a 2-2 draw against Norwich at Carrow Road.
After commanding most of the game Everton found themselves a goal down through an unlikely Steven Whittaker goal early in the second half, with the right-back finding the back of the net from an acute angle.
But having fallen behind against the run of play to a Steven Whittaker strike on 51 minutes, Everton responded in emphatic style and turned the game on its head with two goals in five minutes.
Ross Barkley, capped a man-of-the-match performance by smashing home a rasping equaliser, having collected the ball on the edge of the box, shifted it onto his left foot and drilled an unstoppable drive into the far corner. It was an outstanding strike and one befitting of his impressive performance.
Everton went ahead just four minutes later, when Seamus Coleman fired home from close range having followed up Nikica Jelavic´s parried shot.
But Norwich fortuitously levelled with 19 minutes to play when Dutch international Van Wolfswinkel rose well to steal the headlines with a header that left Tim Howard rooted to the spot.
