Everton have reportedly agreed an £8.5m fee for FC Twente midfielder Leroy Fer.
The 23 year old is known for being a combative defensive midfielder and is nicknamed “The Bouncer”.
Media reports are stating that the Dutch international will fly into Merseyside for a medical shortly, with the move itself confirmed on the official Everton website on Monday afternoon.
The move, if completed, will take many Evertonians by surprise, due to the large transfer fee – a gamble for a comparatively young player that will draw comparisons to Marouane Fellaini´s arrival from Standard Liege in 2008.
