Duncan Ferguson has thanked Evertonians for the reception he received prior Evertons 2-1 victory over Manchester City.

Speaking to evertonfc.com, Duncan Ferguson said: "It was a very proud and emotional moment for me to walk out again at Goodison Park. My family was in the stand and to get such a magnificent reception from the supporters was unbelievable."

"I had a terrific relationship with them when I played for the club and it was great to see them again. I´d like to thank the fans – they are the true legends.

"I was made up that the team got the right result too. They deserved it after such a good performance."
