Saha Hopeful Of Fitness Ahead Of New Season

Louis Saha believes that the Blues are entering pre-season with a degree of optimism, and hopes that his injury woes are behind him as he gears himself towards participating in full training since a bad ankle injury last season.

The striker remains a key part of David Moyes´ plans for the coming year, and he hopes to keep himself fit enough to play a more substantial part for the Toffees as they aim to better last years seventh place finish.

“I am feeling really good and it is nice to be back with the boys and we are all smiling and working very hard,´ said the Frenchman. ´I was up walking during the summer and now I am able to go out and train with the team.

“I am not doing the full training with the boys just yet but I think I should be able to in about ten days. That will be really good as my injury was quite a serious one.”

Louis managed ten goals in all competitions last year during a season ravaged with injuries and an extended goal drought early in the campaign.
