Course he is, at the minimum at similar level....maybe edge zaha tbh, he is a proper game changer. Off your seat magic kind of player.

Pabbers, Son can hold up the ball, run the channels, play the 10 role, score with both feet, blammohead the ball. He's the complete player.

Zaha's great, especially on the transition when we regain posession, but he's not on Son's level. This is nearly as bad as your "Kone earns £10k a week" shout

Wow, people are really still clutching at this. This isnt happening at all, its just newspaper talk recycling the same bid over and over. There is no credible source saying we want his still, and we definitely haven’t got £70m to spend on him.

I don't think he's good enough to transform Everton into contenders for a Champions League finish, so I really don't see the justification for spending obscene money on him.

If the club continues to waste money on slightly above average players, it'll never have anything more than a slightly above average team.
With Zaha and a quality CB we would have a great chance of top 4.

Do you not agree that for the money for the transfer and the eventual wages we could get almost literally any other winger in world football? There is but a few I think would be out of reach for £70m and £200k/week in wages.

We couldn't though, because the ones that are worth that and better than him probably wouldn't come.

How many out and out wingers/wide forwards are there that are better - and proven in the Prem - than Zaha that aren't already at the top clubs, and regular starters at that?

We've gone with a very young striker who looks the real deal. But we can't be sure. So we need to be able to get a player who can ensure - in theory - that we're hitting those figures still. Or, at least, they should be our first choice.

It's not just the money. We could offer City £70m for Sane and £200k wages and he wouldn't come if he had the likes of Bayern at the table. The top players want to be in the CL.

It is a hell of a lot of money. But if we can get a deal for £65-70m I think it's worth it (it's not worth it really, but in terms of what he could bring to us and push us on, it'd be worth it). We have the money. Even if it means we don't spend big next summer (in theory, we shouldn't have to). I trust Brands enough to know he'll walk away if it gets too much. At this stage, I'll worry that it'll leave us with options who are good, but not as good, and with little time to spend the spare money elsewhere, but I'm sure the club will know when to walk away.

No, he is not the complete player, else he would be spurs best player....and he is not.

Cool fancy name tho.

At 60m I thought it was expensive but he would justify it but if its true they've turned down 70 + players then I think its got to the point where that money can buy better. Don't know who, but if Dybala costs Spurs 62m then there must be someone of similar quality we can lure for that much.

Son's last season in Germany wasn't all that great. But when put into a better team with better attackers and tactics he's exploded into a top class player. Zaha might not do that here but it also isn't impossible for him to follow that path.

However right now it is silly to suggest Son isn't a better player.

"Premier League proven" means you are content to pay over the odds and have as much a gamble as a player who has never been here. Salah was a Premier League flop and, yet, look at him now. Pulisic isn't Premier League proven yet Chelsea spunked loads on him instead of players currently in the league. Sigurdsson was "Premier League proven" yet bombed his first year and had bad spells last as well.
