And Vadis by all accounts hasn't been very good this season. Maybe because of what happened/nearly happened in the summer.

It's tough this, I sort of agree with the 1 picked in the op, they are perhaps realistic with our budget, but are they realistically going to happen?!

The Czech lad at Watford on loan from Udinese, Matej Vydra, looks like a decent finisher. Fourteen goals this season. Dont know how much he'd be like. 21 and a full international.

A few players coming to the end of their contracts who could help turn draws into wins: Brunt, Arshavin and Di Santo. Brunt could certainly do a good job in front of the back four and could even play on the left if we wanted to switch Pienaar. Arshavin is 31 now but perhaps Arsenal would let him see out his contract on loan to us? He'd offer us something different if only in flashes. Wigan tend not to sell players in the latter stages of their contracts and I don't think he'd get much game time with us anyway, so Brunt and Arshavin it is.

Of course if it was a loan yes he would of been here by now but I honestly don't think there was ever a thought of a loan this time around.

If we do a deal for him it will be a perminant one. Which I have no doubt is where landons I'm not happy anymore has come from. Bearing that in mind he would want a rest (off season) and I imagine there would be a lot of haggling/begging by several people to get the deal done. Therefore I wouldn't of expected anything to come to together till end of jan.

Here's hoping anyway. I truly think he would plug a fair few holes.

If Donovan can slot right back in and do what he's done in his last two spells, then it's a no-brainer. Don't know if he's in the right frame of mind to do it or not, though. Fletcher is a decent shout, but again, there's question marks over whether he can produce his old form. Lescott would be great, but surely that'll only happen if we sell Heitinga, so it's not really right for this thread. I think Ofoe is a very talented boy but I haven't heard great things, lately. Players do tend to play a lot better when playing for moves, like.

No idea then, really. None of the above would be a disaster but we could do with a couple of "hits" this window, if we're going to last the full race.

This Donovan 'mindset' stuff seems like a clear play towards the Galaxy higher ups to me. He wants out, and a depressed player who doesn't want to kick a ball is no use to them.

I would not be surprised at all if he was here permanently at some point in the near future.

Just imagine, instead of it being Mirallas off for Naismith, if it was Mirallas off for Donovan.

Whilst I agree they are 2 posistions that need addressing anytime soon. Just changing A CB and keeper would make little difference to our season IMO. But a winger/striker and CM really could make a difference if there the right ones.

We couldn't kill Swansea off yesterday because we lacked creativity and variety big time on the attack.
