Unless we had prime Drogba upfront, no one is doing anything with the ‘service’ we’re currently providing.

Everton is the only PL club I know where a ball is lashed forward down the middle, and if the striker somehow brings it down on his head, grapples with the centreback and lays the ball off back to the centreback who booted it forward, everyone starts clapping for the hold up play. Truly bizarre, Calvert Lewin used to do it all the time, Barry has started doing it now, an absolute Herculean effort to win a long ball just to make zero progress with it as we’ll just leather the next one out play anyway.
well said we do need the new striker to get service

I hate our recruitment. Nothing against the player as I am not familiar with him. Another big boy who we won't even get decent service into and when we do he is up against Premeir league center backs and probably won't get a sniff of the ball or deal with the physicality in his first year. We don't need another aerial threat. We need a guy that can actually play with the ball at his feet and play in close spaces. We need service for this type of guy to be effective. Good luck to him if we sign him. Not optimistic whatsoever on this signing unless our fullbacks evolve overnight.

…..loan to buy option suggests it’s not a long-term solution, maybe don’t think too analytically about it but if he improves our output for half a season then it’s job done.

It’s why I sometimes wish we’d just go for a small speedster profile rather than another target man. Then we would have to play into feet and with through balls. Instead we just buy whoever is 6ft4 for set pieces then lash the ball down the channel to them.

We tried that with Maupay and still continued to hoof balls up to a five and half foot angry midget.

Only the very top sides Saint. The amount of times you see poor crosses and pull backs in football are in most matches to be honest that I see barring the very top teams
I think we saw a great example in the Sunderland game...Aznou put a cracking ball across the 6 yard box and neither of our forwards showed any interest in moving for it...Barry seems to want the ball to feet...god knows why?

Again, good pen and under pressure but the guy is not even good enough to start for Morocco, only came on in the ET, and Fener fans desperate to get rid. Sure better than Beto but upgrading 1/10 striker with an 3/10 is not really an upgrade is it

Because he's a poor header of the ball?
