Sorry to comment so late in the thread, but this would be a terrible signing of the kind we used to make all the time and which put the financial health of the club in serious jeopardy.

He doesn't have a great scoring record wherever he has been, is too old to have a proper resale value and I think its extremely questionable whether he'd do better than Barry or Beto anyway.

It’s a loan, so nothing like the signings that put us in financial jeopardy.

It’s actually the smart move. Allows us to re-assess our options in the summer, rather than lashing 20-£30m on a panic buy now.
