It was 'up to £15m', which I'm fairly sure hasn't actually been met either. How much did we pay then?
I’m pretty sure it was well over £10m

I think I can see GS potential. I dont see it in Chermiti. He's played in about 250 first team minutes and has played on the wing in his limited opportunities this pre-season. We'll have to start calling you Nostradaveus as you can see things others can't.
He has looked very promising to me , good movement, good feet .In any game I've seen him have game time in he looks like he thinks pottering around without intent is his job. It isn't. It's getting goals. And he doesn't get them, or even that many shots off.
A lot of people didn’t see it in Kean either and … well ..you know , they were utterly wrong !I think I can see GS potential. I dont see it in Chermiti.![]()
Not here where it matters we weren't.A lot of people didn’t see it in Kean either and … well ..you know , they were utterly wrong !
Just to add , if you can judge with any certainty on the future ability of a young player based on the minimal amount of times you or I have seen Chermiti play , you have missed your vocation.
Because he wasn’t given the chance to develop here , which is the salient point .Not here where it matters we weren't.

He is a very good striker and the naysayers have been proven very wrong .
No ,he would have developed into this league given the chance.Maybe suited to the slower build up play in the leagues of Europe. Here he was just lost.
I'm sorry. I watched Kean like everyone else and I doubt I was alone in thinking he was just not right for the PL.No ,he would have developed into this league given the chance.
The differences between leagues are exaggerated .
If the PL was as exceptional as some make out it wouldn’t be filled to the brim with foreign talent who began their careers in a variety of leagues across the world .
You are exaggerating the difference between the leagues , the differences exist , but Italian clubs are quite capable of defeating PL clubs , so differences aren’t that definitive.I'm sorry. I watched Kean like everyone else and I doubt I was alone in thinking he was just not right for the PL.
If he's finishing well in a league that allows a bit of latitude to forward players then good luck to him. But never in a million years would he have thrived here.
Look at Fernando Torres, he was scoring for fun at them lot, gets a big move to Chelsea and suddenly he's crap, it's not so much the league as the team setupMaybe suited to the slower build up play in the leagues of Europe. Here he was just lost.
Ferguson, but they all fell asleep after the third telling of the story of him battering two burglars wearing only his flip flops.Have we got a striking coach yet
