That was his 2nd injury .....

….interesting that Ferguson from Brighton is actually younger than Chermiti (I think) and the likes of Duran at Villa is a similar age, so it gets to a stage when we shouldn’t be continually talking of him as ‘one for the future’.

Hopefully he’s available soon and we’ll find out if he’s the answer.

Duran is the oldest of the 3. 7 months older than chermiti who in turn is 5 months older than Ferguson

Rooney was playing in the Prem at 16. Should we stop calling all 17 year olds "one for the future"?

He'd be playing if he wasn't injured, Dyche made that clear when he kept picking him over Beto.

Having said that, players have different development curves. Duran became a pro at 16, Chermiti not until 19. I don't think anyone should be using Evan Ferguson as an example of a successfully developed player at the moment.

….i think it’s more a case of he’d have definitely been given the opportunity to earn a starting place. Whether ‘he’d have been playing’ or not is another discussion given he’d shown very little in his cameo performances at this level. To be fair, he looked better pre-season so the timing of the injury was a shame for us all.

Hopefully he’ll be back soon, then it’s up to him.

I think the point with Chermiti is while its good to buy potential we need players in our position who can also contribute and he has yet to really.
