Why would Thelwell move Beto on in the summer? He fits the profile he has in mind , relatively young with the potential to develop as a PL player and be sold for more money than we paid for him . There are so many Yellow cards these days you’d believe that even without injuries Beto and Chermiti will be needed at some time this season
Ive been consistent in my opinion that hes not the right 'type' of player we need unless were using a fast counter attacking style.
In the derby when he got the ball and Konate wasnt sent off for bringing him down, thats the exact type of football where he thrives. Give him the ball deep on a counter and his pace, aggression and strength will see him be fouled or take the ball all the way to their box.
We need to see how be does over the season but hes 26 in January and I dont see him showing attributes to replace DCL.
Weve not put money down yet and currently id sell for the same price £21.5mil rising to £25mil.
I am not convinced Dom will be with us come the end of the next Summer and you may find Beto becomes our first choice forward.
I think it depends on the fees offered for DCL. If the Saudi rumours are true and a bid of £50-60mil came in for him + we could also sell Beto then its a consideration to use the £70-90mil on a new CF and a Doucoure replacement.
Still have no idea why you keep saying move beto on has been a long term striker thelwell has looked at. Has been bought to come in fight dcl to start, or with dcl injuries the club expected him to start alot of games.
He wasnt the main target and how do we know he was even in the top names we wanted -- we havent paid anything for him yet. Perhaps thats why we signed him?
You can tell the way a guy runs, his touch, his passing and his shooting technique. He might be more or less effective but he is never going to be class. Chermiti looks more of natural football based on what I have seen so far.
I can't put my finger on it but Chermiti has something about him, he just looks a prospect.
I'd be absolutely delighted if he scores that many. Class is a pretty common description in relation to a footballer. Some players are classy in that they have good technical football skills like touch, passing ability, vision, awareness, shooting technique. Beto looks extremely raw and is entirely reliant on pace and size. As a counter example, Duncan Ferguson, although also a bruiser, was a high class footballer, he had an excellent touch, good vision and passing ability and was a clean striker of a footballer with feet or head. People would not regard Lukaku as a classy footballer despite his effectiveness.
Totally agree with these posts.
I saw something in
Branthwaite and Onana. Not without flaws and needed some development.
With Chermiti, he looks like he just might have 'it'. I think over the season if he develops well then we could all be in for a surprise and a treat next season.
