Your Top 5 Computer Games Ever.....

Why are you so hung up on WoW? Did you have a bad experience or something? And no, I am no WoW fan, it is far too boring...all the 'grinding' to get to the fun stuff.....nah, not for me.

Fact is, PC's are vastly more powerful, the DX11 games and the video cards running them are so far ahead of PS3/Xbox it isn't even funny.

What you seem to be a fan of is badly mad 'blockbuster' titles. The COD's, the Madden's, the GTA's. Those aren't 'games', those are big titles with no substance but because casual gamer can pick them up and have a bit of fun they sell like hotcakes.

I prefer gaming, in general on the PC. I really enjoy playing a game and then look up and think 'crap, where did the last 4 hours go?' and I just don't get that with console games.

I have been a gamer my whole life....I started out on a TRS-80, had several PC's and all the gaming consoles (minus the Dreamcast, which I regret). I enjoy games across all of them, but if I had to pick only one to live with, there is no hesitation, no consideration. It is the PC each and every time.

dude even the developers don't care about making games for the PC anymore. Everyone knows this. Some games don't even come out on PC that are out on Xbox or PS3.

Depends on the game, there are more casual games in the consoles but its a generalisation to say there aren't immersive titles for consoles you lose hours to. Batman arkham asylum, chrono trigger being two examples.

No, not true, I replied because he got all aggressive...I almost think a group of WoW boys ganged up on him and beat him up or something ;)

And I have been contributing heavily in this thread, no need to stop.

I still think "if you really disagreed with me you wouldn't have replied" is the best argument I have ever heard about anything ever. I gave royal_blue pos rep for it despite the fact that he was arguing against me at the time.

It's just genius. It means if nobody replied, you're right because nobody's contradicting you and if somebody replies it's because they secretly agree with you.

I'm still in awe.

Consolers are just catching up, PC has been delivering HD for years. Oh, and 5 point cinema surround sound. And a superior interface (keyboard and mouse). And a PC is upgradable, and it is PC's that are used to make the games in the first place.
Where PC went and the market followed.
Grand Theft Auto.
FarCry.
Silent Hunter III.
Quake.

Starcraft2 isn't out on console either, but it's the best selling PC game for last year and that game is a religion in South Korea. You can't play FPS, strategy or role-playing games nearly as comfortably as on a PC. I don't think you can really compare PC to console, because the PC can do everything a console can and more - better graphics, can use a controller, can plug into a TV, modding capabilities lead to games that can live strong for over 10 years.

It's about ease-of-use, ease-of-development and cost. You can put any game in a console and expect it to work every time, pick up the controller and lay back on the couch. With PC's you have a higher chance of running into problems. That's where development comes in... developing a game for one type of hardware system is much easier and cheaper than developing for a platform that can have 1000's of different hardware combinations. So that attracts thousands of more casual gamers, more money, bigger industry, pump out games. Games don't get pumped out for PC as much, because if you want to be pumping out games every year then you can only afford to do that selling to a player-base as large as the consoles.

Anyway congratulations for your successful windup :)

Dude only people with no lives or jobs (like me) play PC games. No1 cares. It's all about the PS3 or XBOX. This is not a wind up. People can't be bothered to buy an XBOX Microsoft controller for the PC. Might as well get an xbox! or a ps3. MS make games for the xbox or the pc, but you have to buy an xbox PC for Windows controller for most pc games. that's why xbox is equal with ps3 in the world. only games like WOW survive cos geeks live and breathe it.

Yes it's really really awesome! I'm doing my second play through now. Warning though, they teach the combat system really badly at the start so it takes a while to get into it and you might die a load of times at the start because of that lol. But that was a good challenge anyway and the games brilliant. The graphics are amazing, the story is great and can go so many different ways and the combat, once you've learnt it, is a good combination of hack n slash, skill and magic.

I'll also add the dialogue is brilliant at times, intended for a mature audience for sure!

This whole PC vs Console debate is embarrassing. It's the same argument I had with my mates when I was 13.

Then I grew up and realised it's all preference. If you get annoyed because someone likes something more or less than you do then you really need to take a step back and calm down.

I prefer consoles over PCs because I prefer sitting at my sofa, I prefer using a controller and a lot of my favourite games are console exclusive. But I really don't care if Dylan prefers his PC, if royalblue prefers his xbox or if Bryan prefers his iPhone. Actually scratch the last one. I hate bad apple teds.

The point is, games are games. They should be a positive experience; entertainment. If you get all riled up or start having pissing contests then it's just a bit silly.
