My view is that any right minded person would want someone who was qualified and knew what they were doing caring for their child and that they were getting the best care available. The gender, sexual orientation, religion etc of the nurse/carer shouldn't come in to it.

I would have no issue whatsoever, wouldn't even cross my mind to question it, with a male nurse looking after either of my daughters (one is 5, the other almost 2).
I feel it's a shame you have to ask such a question in the first place.

One of my friends is going to nursing school right now. It's a solid program and he's pretty much guaranteed a job with decent pay once he graduates. Nothing wrong with that at all.

I was looking into applying to the UK for nursing until I saw how lousy the salaries were and the nazi out of date policies that the UK has when you want to bring pets in.
No one cares what sex you are anymore. There is some anamosity from rural people in the states against forginers but that is about it.
